Have a few nice evenings out for cocktails and restaurants coming up. Am 55 and thinking for smart black trousers or skirt and a lovely top. But what would you wear on your feet. Not good with heels so stuck..... Usually wear black boots..... is that ok???

There are all sorts of "party flats" around at the moment, and also some with tiny kitten heels, if you can manage that.

Boots OK, but probably not everyday ones - might look a bit clumpy. Pointed toe always looks nice under full length trousers.

Look at pointed flats that can peek out from under your trousers or look good with your skirt. The idea is that they draw the eye up and down, so go metallic, sparkly, bright and/or embellished (eg diamanté buckles or similar)

Having said that, pointy flats can be a bit ‘dainty’ so if you’re into more clumpy styles, a shiny patent or animal print loafer would be a good choice that would probably get more use year round

Google embellished flat shoes for inspiration
