Help me style a jumper dress

I tried on a (Christmas) sweater dress at Next which I love but I have no idea how to style it ( I’m hopeless ).

Next has styled it with jeans but on me the sweater is a lose fitting dress. I’m 5”4 and a size medium . I’m 38 if that makes a difference lol. I think it would look odd ( on me ) with jeans plus all my jeans are a big baggy.

I own another sweater dress that is cream coloured and I was wearing it last month with just trainers as the weather was mild . Now that’s it’s colder, I’m not sure what would look good with it . Next has styled it with tall brown boots . I don’t like the look of tall boots but it’s growing on me. I tend to like the Chelsea style more .

Black tights and boots are versatile but I’m not sure if that works with a lighter coloured sweater dresses ? I don’t own any boots but I was given Christmas money a bit early to buy some .

I'd wear jeggings or skinny jeans and ankle boots with it.

That’s not a sweater dress it’s a long jumper and definitely needs trousers/ jeans / leggings.
You’d be half dressed otherwise.

I’m confused - the picture with the Christmas tree is a jumper, not a dress?

I wear jumper dresses almost daily with tights and boots but they are much longer than the one in the photo!

With that I'd just wear leggings, jeggings, or some sort of tight trouser-based bottom half, like leggings made from cord material, or pleather, that kind of thing.

Black stretch mini skirt, thick black tights and ankle or knee boots.

It’s really long on me . I guess the model is tall . I’m 5”4. It goes to my knees and looks like a jumper dress 🤷🏼‍♀️

Next even had it styled in the section with other jumper dresses which is why I was thrown off when I saw how they styled it online .

@ShandaLear I love that look! It won’t work with this though as the jumper is too long . I might just forget this jumper and go with black boots and a regular Christmas jumper .

I guess being 5ft 4 might make the sweater like a dress. I am 5ft 2, and find the sweater/sweater dress a good option with dark tights - maybe with chunky shoes. I suppose on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day you might be wearing fluffy slippers in your house or a relative's house.

Maybe dark red to be festive for the days around Christmas. Maybe black with gold dots. (TK Maxx or Oliver Bonas have some usually.)

Thick leggings/tights and boots (long or Chelsea, doesn't matter) looks great with jumper dresses! You could wear it with other dresses too, even light coloured ones - been doing this for years and I'm 5'2.

I wear jumper dresses with thick tights and chunky flat lace up boots .

Is it lilac?
Maybe some bright pink/purple tights and matching velvet shoes - platforms even better

I work there and it's def a jumper and I'm only 5 ft !

I'd go leggings then you can wear boots/trainers/whatever

Would you wear something like this. Obv remove my dress and replace with yours

jumper dresses with thick tights and boots

long jumpers with Jean's jegging leggings and with either boots or trainers only like short boots

Though dont mind longer boots with jumper dress and thick tights

If the cream jumper dress looks odd with black tights & boots, I would try blue denim jeggings with high top trainers in a lighter colour

I agree the other looks like a jumper to me
