White maxi dress to Christmas party
HotTotSpot · 25/11/2022 20:33
I have a white/cream cotton maxi dress that I’m wondering could I wear to my work Christmas party. It’s a bit see-through so I would wear a slip underneath. Could I make this more festive and suitable? Normal attire would be glitzy sequinned glam dresses. Pic is from website, not me.

It feels like a summer dress to me tbh, not sure how you'd make it feel festive

that's very summery. How would you make that more festive?

Some wings and a halo made from a wire coat hanger and silver tinsel?
Sorry - I’m being facetious. I don’t know where you’re going and what’s appropriate to the event. It does look summery, but you could possibly get away with a load of gold jewellery, biker boots and a leather/faux leather jacket.

Lol that sounds like a resounding No! It's definitely summery but was hoping somehow it could be made suitable. Back to the drawing board I guess.

I wouldn't wear that in winter. Long white dress you can only get away with in summer or at your own wedding IMO.

It wouldn't be my 1st choice at all. Not only because it looks see through and like a casual, summer dress but also because it looks freezing!
If it was your only option though, I'd either add a fake fur type bolero or a sequined one. Something like these maybe:

If you like it & feel comfy OP wear it. These days anything goes.

Erm, no, sorry. If money is tight, start looking in charity shops, they have lots of glitzy clothes at this time of year.
