White maxi dress to Christmas party

I have a white/cream cotton maxi dress that I’m wondering could I wear to my work Christmas party. It’s a bit see-through so I would wear a slip underneath. Could I make this more festive and suitable? Normal attire would be glitzy sequinned glam dresses. Pic is from website, not me.

It feels like a summer dress to me tbh, not sure how you'd make it feel festive

namechangedx50 · 25/11/2022 20:39

that's very summery. How would you make that more festive?

mynameiscalypso · 25/11/2022 20:42

I'd spill mulled wine down that in about 3 minutes

ShandaLear · 25/11/2022 20:43

Some wings and a halo made from a wire coat hanger and silver tinsel?

Sorry - I’m being facetious. I don’t know where you’re going and what’s appropriate to the event. It does look summery, but you could possibly get away with a load of gold jewellery, biker boots and a leather/faux leather jacket.

No

HotTotSpot · 25/11/2022 20:54

Lol that sounds like a resounding No! It's definitely summery but was hoping somehow it could be made suitable. Back to the drawing board I guess.

I wouldn't wear that in winter. Long white dress you can only get away with in summer or at your own wedding IMO.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 25/11/2022 21:15

A huge no from me OP

pictish · 25/11/2022 21:15

Personally, nah.

Juicylychee · 25/11/2022 21:16

Looks like a summer beach cover up.

whatsinaname2 · 25/11/2022 22:14

Good Lord, no!!!!

leccybill · 25/11/2022 22:27

Get yourself on Vinted for something more suitable.

doitwithlove · 25/11/2022 22:29

If you like it & feel comfy OP wear it. These days anything goes.

Enjoy the party 🎉

No it looks like a summer cover up not even a dress
Just no 🤦🏻‍♀️

Get on eBay or vinted for something better

Jellybean23 · 25/11/2022 22:31

Erm, no, sorry. If money is tight, start looking in charity shops, they have lots of glitzy clothes at this time of year.
