Thought it might be useful for anyone thinking about it. I realise it would be way more useful if I posted before and after photos but I'm not going to do that!
I opted for laser treatment to combat hyperpigmentation. I had quite a lot of brown spots but one in particular is like a moustache and several people had asked if I'd been drinking cappucino/hot chocolate!
The treatment itself was not painful, and I probably wouldn't even call it uncomfortable. I had my headphones in and listened to podcasts and found the hour went quite quickly. My face was slightly swollen afterwards, and very red - looked as if I'd been out in the sun for too long. I didn't take any time off work other than for the appointment. I was a bit nervous about not wearing make up but don't think anyone really noticed. (And I work in places where people would be very quick to tell me I look odd!)
A few days later, the black specks I'd been warned about started to appear on the surface of my skin. I don't think it was too noticeable and I was still able to go out and about. The skin started flaking off leaving really glowy, fresh, smooth skin underneath. I didn't expect that as a result. Skin on my neck itches a bit and I feel my face is more sensitive than before but no other irritation.
Two months on, most of the hyperpigmentation has gone, along with some red blood vessels around my nose. The one spot that spurred me to do this is stubbornly just as dark as ever! 😩 My skin looks great though.
Overall I feel it was worth doing and I'm just resigned to the fact my skin moustache is here to stay.
