I got gorgeous leather look high waist leggings from Ann Summers. I’m so glad to have them in my wardrobe. Looking for inspiration on what I could ask DH for for Christmas but if clothing, it needs to be something I love and look forward to wearing. I can’t tell from pictures what my perfect coat or sweater is. Anyone have an absolute can’t live without piece of clothing? Inspire me!

Cashmere hoodie. Got two from Lilysilk and wear them on the daily. They are chic but casual, and really help with my sensory processing issues (no tags, seams, stuff fabrics etc). I will honestly never be without them.

IheartJKRowling · 22/11/2022 16:34

Classic Max Mara oversized wrap coat in camel. It will never date (it's already over 20 years old) and looks amazing with everything from jeans to formal wear. It will never leave my wardrobe.

Tx for dropping your affiliate link! 🙏🙄

Sure no probs😂 Have to laugh at the weariness of mumsnetters these days. Did you learn about affiliate links on here too?

This is exactly what I’ve been looking for but want a long line one. Cannot find one anywhere! Got a gorgeous normal length one from fat face last year…. Shrunk it in the wash🤦🏼‍♀️

The item I’ve worn the most for longest is a leather biker jacket. It cost £60 in the Oasis sale about ten years ago and is looking a bit worse for wear now. I can’t find another that I like anywhere near as much.

But it IS an affiliate link. Own it.

Chloefairydust · 23/11/2022 05:21

I really like the look of leather look leggings, but have always wondered if they are comfortable to wear for long… Like do they get … kinda sweaty??

Im remembering a hilarious scene from friends where Ross goes on a date wearing leather trousers 😆

@Hooverphobe thsnks for educating me. I thought there was something a little odd about the OP’s post…

Puppylucky · 23/11/2022 09:09

Wow vicious much @Hooverphobe? Not sure the OP deserved that!

@WhenisitmyturntobePM I’ve been looking on Lilysilk, they have some lovely knitwear. What’s the sizing like? Are returns easy enough should something not be right? (sorry for the questions I’m always a little nervous ordering from websites I’ve not used before!)

WhenisitmyturntobePM · 23/11/2022 09:55

@LBB2020 i’ve never had to send anything back, but bought from them 3 times without issues. Things come nicely packaged so great as Christmas presents. The sizing is true to size or very slightly generous, but not oversized. More like M&S sizing than Cos etc, if that makes sense.

LBB2020 · 23/11/2022 09:57

Perfect, thank you @WhenisitmyturntobePM

If it's an affiliate link, OP will make a bit of money from each sale of the leggings - if she's going to try to cash in on MNers, it'd be nicer if she was upfront about it instead of couching it in fakey 'Ooh, I LOVE these leggings, they're so fab - what do YOU like?' terms. My guess would be that she doesn't GAF about people's biker jackets or cashmere hoodies and just wants clicks.

As Hooverphobe said, at least own it.

HeatwaveToNightshade · 23/11/2022 10:33

Crikey, I wouldn't have noticed that about the link. I did think the post was a bit clumsily expressed - I have these amazing leggings - I can't live without them - looking for more stuff my DH can buy me that I can't live without. It would have been more natural to simply ask what other posters couldn't live without.

Anyway, about those leggings. Sweaty crotch springs to mind. Sorry folks, I had already clicked the link before I was educated.

peaceandove · 23/11/2022 10:56

Hand on heart, the very very best faux leather leggings are from Commando. Granted they're around £100 but they are amazing. Super comfy and flattering because they're also shapewear. Spanx 'Can you see me now' leggings are nearly as good.

yeah, I googled quickly and that was the first I found in the SERP🤷‍♀️ Who the fuck cares. So glad though that we’ve got a professional marketer here to keep us right.

I have the Spanx ones! They never hugged my hips and gave me a builders butt when I bent down. And were way more expensive.

Anyway despite what people think about me making my millions on affiliate links, this post wasn’t about my leggings. I really wanted ideas for a gorgeous can’t live without clothing items others have and my leggings were my contribution to the discussion.

im sure there’s a feel good sweater or coat out there, I just can’t find it searching online.

The leggings from AS are separately lined, and stretchy. So warm but never sweaty. My Spanx ones were not lined and did feel a bit sweatier overall but honestly, nothing like the Ross in friends situation.

Sorry my writing style was clumsy. It was hard to express what I meant about something you just feel happy to own and feels quality and makes you happy to wear.

Interesting that you used the term “SERP”… it’s not a particularly common acronym outside of digital marketing…

Good luck with your dildo/thrush campaign…
