I fancy a change but hate trying loads of stuff as I've a lot of allergies & strong, heavy scents make me sneeze really badly. I want something fairly light & probably in a similar vein to what I already wear. Daytimes I tend to do CKOne (I know it's 80's but it's very light & fresh) or Armani White She, nightimes I tend to go with Armani She in the gold bottle.
What's in, what's your faves & what should I avoid like the plague?
TIA

If you want something light and refreshing, I would recommend Clarins Eau Ressourcante (?sp) - the one in the blue bottle! I actually tend to wear this during the summer months and then Clarins Eau Dynamisante (the red bottle ) during the winter, as it's a little bit spicier. Both sound quite similar to what you're already wearing.

Evenings: sometimes I wear Origins Ginger Essence, which is still fairly light but warm and, well, gingery...

Thanks Snaf, used to wear the red one sometimes when I was younger but kind of went off it, will try the blue to see.

I've just bought Philosophy Amazing Grace which is very light - sort of newborn baby, talc and clean sheets-ish.

I also really like Kenzo Flower, which is fresh and light, sort of palma violet-ish.

pointydog · 31/01/2008 19:02

what's the difference between new born baby, talc and clean sheets
and
old lady, talc and pan drops

I think I like the sound of it, janeite, but am a bit worried. I'll need to sniff it

pointydog · 31/01/2008 19:03

I've been wearing L'eau d'Issey for a couple of years now and wouldn't mind a change

lizandlulu · 31/01/2008 19:05

another vote for amazing grace. there are 3 types of grace and they all smell slightly different. nice and clean though, not flowery.

pointydog · 31/01/2008 19:06

hmm. will have sniffter

janeite · 31/01/2008 19:06

Lol - it's not old ladyish at all. It just smells really clean and subtle if that makes sense?

Wisteria · 31/01/2008 19:06

I am loving Armani Code at the mo - always gets nice comments and you hardly need any so it lasts for ages.

Have you tried D&G's Feminin? THat's not very heavy.

janeite · 31/01/2008 19:07

And I think I lied to you - I think the one I've got is called PURE Grace.

TsarChasm · 31/01/2008 19:08

Yes, kenzo flower is nice - sugary and flowery.

I like the sound of the Philosophy one 'sort of newborn baby, talc and clean sheets-ish' what a yummy descrition janeite!

sweetheart · 31/01/2008 19:16

I wear kenzo flowers and like it but I think it is quite a heavy scent and I usually save it for evenings.

During the day I love to wear Ghost. It has a light, delicate fragrance which I love. I often get complemented when wearing it too.

I am also trying the new Cristina Aguilera one at the moment which is quite nice but again perhaps a little heavy.

Oh - the other "every day" fragrance I love is 212 by Caroline Harrer (Think that name is spelt totally wrong!)

sweetheart · 31/01/2008 19:17

If you like that baby/talc/clean smell, Burberry baby touch is lovely & light. Supposed to be for babies & no, I would never put it on a baby, but was curious to know what it was like, liked it so bought some for myself - I also sneeze & get headaches with strong perfume

pointydog · 31/01/2008 20:31

I could not buy Burberry. Connotations

Posey · 31/01/2008 20:34

My favourites are both Clinique - Aromatics Elixir and Happy.

Wisteria · 01/02/2008 08:27

Oh Posey, you'll be one of the people that makes me stop dead in Sainsbury's as I get a whiff of my Mum going by then .

So when you see a slightly crazy looking redhead smiling inanely at you in a wistful kind of way in the cheese aisle then don't worry, it's just me reminiscing

Jbck · 05/02/2008 23:39

Thanks everyone, forgot to come back over the weekend. DH wears a couple of Carolina Herrera aftershaves so I will try the ladies and we could be scent twins
