Help me out of my jeans!

When I'm not at work I live in jeans. I'm so bored of them. What can I wear that's casual and comfy but looks nice? I'm 44, 6' tall, size 12, bit of a tummy, long skinny legs. I don't really do heels.

I live in my dresses. I love them. There are a lot of winter weight ones out there. Practical and comfy and you never have to consider what top goes with what bottoms.

DesertIslandCondiment · 19/11/2022 12:18

I've just had two wool just above knee dresses delivered to wear with ankle boots.

Coffeepot72 · 19/11/2022 12:53

Watching with interest. I have different measurements to the OP but would still like an alternative to jeans. The dress suggestions are great but I still need a ‘trousers’ option. I tried cords but they didn’t look/feel much different

Daisy62 · 19/11/2022 13:18

Maybe Uniqlo flared cords or their pleated trousers?

workingeverysingkeday · 19/11/2022 13:30

I'm loving the Lagenlook magic trousers.
Not jeans and not joggers. Casual and super comfy.

I've just googled them. I like and want some now.

Oh no, not magic trousers spam again.
They're the preserve of fat women who don't fit into anything else 🤔
Op step away from them ....

What sort of boots would you wear?
I have really lost my mojo. I don't know what suits me anymore.

short skirts and dresses with tights.

Flat chunky ankle boots. I have a couple of ankle boots with heels too even though I keep reading though are not as fashionable.

bobisbored · 19/11/2022 17:08

Right ok, I'll have a look. Thank you!

Dresses, tights and DMs. Live in them.

Mabelface · 19/11/2022 17:39

Dungarees and DMs all the way. I bloody love them, so comfy and look good.

Milknosugarta · 19/11/2022 17:40

Black yoga pants, various longish dress-like tunics. Dressy, but comfy, can still keep warm with socks & boots. Thermal vest or t shirt if cold.

I'm not fat. They're totally acceptable.

Lentilweaver · 22/11/2022 20:51

I am a size 12 too and live in wideleg trousers from M and S. They also have some nice cords at the moment.

Cantonet · 22/11/2022 21:10

Sorry, I'm very prejudiced against them because I wore them when I was very fat. They only really look right on slim figures but they're sold as a one size fits all. They're now languishing in my bin bag of doom never to be worn again.
There are so many other nice trousers the op can wear at a size 12. I love m&s wide side striped trousers with a cashmere jumper & stacked flatform trainers. Or the m&s cropped flared leather leggings with chunky boots.
Or even the m&s soft cord jersey ankle lengths & the velour joggers.

Coffeepot72 · 23/11/2022 19:27

Magic trousers? Tell me more! I am a size 12 but like to be comfy

bobisbored · 05/12/2022 19:43

I ended up buying some fab chunky boots from m and s and a few dresses. Thank you all. I feel human again.

Was coming on to say M&S dresses.

Annasgirl · 05/12/2022 21:45

My sister is your height and size. She wears M and S wide side stripe trousers - they are wide leg joggers that can be dressed up or down. They look amazing.

Type in lagenlook pants into eBay. Loads of colours and cheaper than the boutiques that sell them.

NegroniLover · 06/12/2022 13:55

I am 5ft 9" size 12 and I don't actually own any jeans at all anymore.
For work I wear tapered trousers with turn ups and flat suede chelsea boots - trousers are from Whistles, Reiss, ME+EM, Mint Velvet and one pair from M&S

I also have several pairs of wide legged cropped trousers in black which I wear with black leather laced up Whistles Asha boots and various tops and jumpers

For super casual weekend wear I have black whistles jogger bottoms which I love as well as several pairs of wide leg side stripped 'jogger' trousers from Mint Velvet and ME+EM - also really love them

For going out I have dresses and some dressy cigarette style black brocade trousers (Zara) as well as wide legged trousers in various materials - velvet, wool etc

I have lots of shoes / trainers - I love new balance and have 3 pairs, black whistles Asha boots (super versatile), heeled whistles Delia boots (adore them), black velvet platform sandals (wear with tights and dresses / trousers), birkenstocks, suede chelsea boots, Tracey Neuls boots etc. I buy good shoes and boots and look after them.

And I have 4 or 5 jumpsuits which I love

I'm not sure I will ever wear jeans again. I go through phases of this and in my 20's I also had no jeans! There are SO many other amazing things to wear. Once I dropped skinny jeans I never replaced them
