Make up people- please help me find a grey eyeshadow

I’d be most grateful for any suggestions for the above, my mum has asked for this for Christmas as she can’t find one but I’ve had a similar fruitless search. Ideally a…

• cooler/ silverish mid grey rather than a brown grey/ taupe.
• satinish finish rather than a frost or extreme matt finish.
• quite pigmented (so doesn’t immediately disappear)
• easy to wear in day, can be built up for evening

I’ve only ever found the right kind of colour as part of a palette (Nars, Mac and Clarins) but then I just use that one and the rest of the palette goes to waste.

Went to Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Dior and Charlotte Tilbury today and no joy. The SA in Charlotte Tilbury told me that grey isn’t popular 🙄 but then showed me a grey palette where at least two of the colours would never be used.

I use this grey eyeshadow stick everyday. I also used to find it hard to find the right grey eyeshadow until I found this one

Jeffrey Star. As much as he is a tosser his make up is really good. Goes on smooth and creamy and lasts for hours and hours (or days in the case of his purple/red shades)

Laura mercier does lovely eyeshadow sticks I had a silver grey one before. Or soap and glory I got one in my advent calendar last year it was lovely

Frequency 🤣 I’m now going to be spending my day off googling Jeffrey Star!! Not sure I can justify buying my mum a palette with that name but thank you! Always good for new recommendations as I tend to go for Space NK/ department store.

I’ve always loved Mac formulatingAresponse I’ll see if I can find Evening Grey near me. It seems the local retailers have scaled down their eyeshadows. The other one seems to be out of stock on the website too.

Another Soap and Glory recommendation! Another one to look at. It might be that I buy myself a stick but try one or two powders for my mum.

I’ve ordered a Pat McGrath single brighterthanthemoon for her so thank you very much for that. The sales for online make up are excellent at the moment. Possibly I’ll get a silvery/ bluer one too.

The Soap and Glory is absolutely brilliant. Buildable, flattering and easy to use. I ordered another for my mum after trying it out for myself (price allowed me to do that!) Thanks meowzeer and PurpleandVelvet . I’ve also bought a Pat McG (as a present- so haven’t tried this). I’ll keep the other recommendations in mind too.
