Wedding is in just over a year, diet going well.
I find these outfits very aging. I am 53 so about average age of mother of the groom but I want a younger style without looking silly but not something grandmother of the groom would wear.
Can you suggest websites please, so I can get some ideas? Happy to treat myself to something expensive. Thanks.

The Outnet
Wolf & Badger
La Double J
Maje
Net a Porter

Fingers crossed you will find something- or post some more about what you love/hate (eh neckline, length, body shape, arms covered or not etc) and we'll help you search Smile

Random selection of ideas as a starter. If you want something more spring/summer you might be better waiting for the 2023 spring drops after Christmas

No help but this reminds me of the poster who ordered an absolutely fabulous ruffle/floral dress from Needle and Thread I believe and absolutely rocked it (despite everyone telling her it would be horrible as a MOG). Everyone was concerned it would be too much but even her son endorsed it. I think she had to send it back though as was a size too small unfortunately.

Only thing I can say is wear whatever makes you feel fabulous (as long as it's not a wedding dress!)

gogohmm · 17/11/2022 15:48

What style are you aiming for, formal with jacket? Glamorous with wrap? Long length, midi? Winter wedding or spring?

Defiantlynot41 · 17/11/2022 16:05

@Alarae I remember that thread (possibly more than one?), it was brilliant, loads of suggestions too. I think the groom was gay so no chance of being accused of trying to upstage the bride! If I find it I'll post it here

But yes, Needle & Thread and Self-portrait also worth a look

I'd normally recommend Temperley but their new season looks rubbish.

Beulah may be an option.

The Fold is corporate wear mostly but they always a couple of nice occasion dresses.

Thanks. Lots of suggestions to check out. I am looking for something glam but not overly. Midi length. Not a high neckline but not too much cleavage. Spring is the season. Also not too light in colour. Possibly more floaty not formal with those little jackets.

For floaty, I'd definitely have a look at Needle & Thread, but possibly wait until early next year as current season has lots of red or black, plus the usual cream & blush pink.
