It looks so gorgeous in the Facebook adverts...the colours are so rich and jewel like. Not sure if its worth the price though. £5 just for the postage, around £22 for a pencil.

Anyone tried it?

I have to say that Kyliner is also really good.
I wanted the VB one but there are no stockists near me and I wanted to see the colours properly and the Sales Assistant In Selfridges suggested the Kyliner instead

doublecleansed · 17/11/2022 09:59

They occasionally have free postage offers - I ordered a couple the other weekend when there was an offer on. I think there was 20% site wide last week too. I'm sure they'll have some Black Friday deals.

ToastCosILoveIt · 17/11/2022 10:25

I can't find these for sale anywhere in the UK, can anyone help please? Many thanks.

dontgobaconmyheart · 17/11/2022 10:31

I don't have Facebook but have seen the ads on Instagram more times than I can count in the lady few weeks and also thought they looked lovely- then went to the comments and was very put off, almost nobody saying they're good, most saying the staying power is awful, that they smudge down the eye, colours not looking as they do in the advert and that all attempts to contact customer services about various issues (wrong orders, not arriving, faulty items) are ignored. Put me right off, as did the £5 postage cash grab.

I'm sure there are dupes for far less money. None of the shades are anything I've not seen elsewhere in an eye pencil. All the ad's done is make me think I want a bronze/brown eyeliner, just not the VB one.

WrinklesShminkles · 17/11/2022 10:47

Pixi eyeliner is soft and glittery @piedbeauty - currently on offer at M&S I think. I haven't tried VB ones so can't compare.

Someone mentioned a brilliant less expensive alternative on a previous thread , I'm off to search for name of said brand.

serenghetti2011 · 17/11/2022 11:09

I got free postage and 10% off hope they are good they do look lovely reviews are mixed. Avon glimmersticks or whatever they are called are not great I bought a few I use Bobbi brown pots of gel liner usually so we will see

TokyoSushi · 17/11/2022 11:19

Please report back those who have ordered!

piedbeauty · 17/11/2022 11:28

Thanks, @WrinklesShminkles! Will take a look.

ToastCosILoveIt · 17/11/2022 13:12

Thank you @MissHavishamsMouldyOldCake.

Stuffthisstuff · 17/11/2022 13:23

I didn't get on with them at all - got two pencils and an eyeshadow but they're nothing special. I have hooded eyes though so maybe that makes a difference. I've heard people talk about the lovely packaging too, cream canvas bags, but I didn't get that ☹️ I do prefer the Avon one mentioned and it doesn't transfer as the day goes on.

doublecleansed · 17/11/2022 14:43

I really like them. They're very creamy and better for a smudgy, soft look then a sharp line. I've used the sea grey as an all over eye colour, too.

MyOtherCarIsAHearse · 17/11/2022 18:00

Just adding, I think the packaging is sublime. Not just the actual packaging for the items themselves but the presentation generally. The cotton bag is lovely and everything is boxed. Plus there’s usually a little card in with it. I just think it’s really classy.

Sparkletastic · 17/11/2022 18:02

They smudge on me. Urban Decay and Charlotte Tilbury perform better IMO

I looked it up- the Barry M liners are supposed to be a great dupe

I wouldn’t recommend pixi - impossible to sharpen even after putting in fridge.

gingerpassthegin · 18/11/2022 07:50

I bought the purple one having fallen for the ad. Sadly it flaked, didn't glide on at all, smeared and didn't actually have any shine to it! I've given it to a mate at work to see if she can get on with it.

No!!! This makes me so sad. I'll report back once mine arrive.

FishnetsNightdressCrisis · 18/11/2022 09:46

@gingerpassthegin I have the purple Avon glimmerstick and it's absolutely great on me, goes on really well, good colour, lasts and has a subtle shine. Worth a go maybe, especially as it's only £3,50 atm in a Black Friday offer!

I'm in!

BobbyBobbyBobby · 18/11/2022 10:39

Barry m and Avon glimmerstix whilst perfectly ok are not dupes for VB eyeliners. Not even a close second.

The closest I have found are Makki eyeliners from Amazon. Like VB they glide on and they are lasting. VB eyeliners are just only ever so slightly better in my opinion because of how they look and feel.

TokyoSushi · 24/11/2022 09:45

They've got 20% off in the Black Friday sale, down to £16, less bad!

Shitfather · 24/11/2022 10:54

(Sick to death of being tempted by the bombardment of ads on FB and so I have finally switched them off.)

peachescariad · 24/11/2022 11:51

Just ordered one from VB site - got 20% off so down to £16 (£5 p&p though for a tiny pencil 🙄🙄)
