Help me find a black tie dress I’ll wear for years

I have a fairly glamorous black tie Christmas event to attend and all my black tie dresses date from pre kids and are generally not great.

I am looking for something classic and elegant I can wear for many years, but also not too boring. I’m 5’7 and size 8-10, brunette age 38 if that helps.

I am happy to spend a good amount of money for the right dress (up to £800 maybe?).
