Looking for a shampoo that is full of sulphates and silicones!

I've realised that all these sulphate free shampoos do nothing for my hair. They make it lane and greasy and frizzy

Back in the day, you could just pick up any old thing and you didn't have to think about sulphates and silicones ... do these shampoos still exist?

Budget isn't really an issue, I just want a nice shampoo and conditioner that isn't 'pure' this or 'silicone free' that

Surprisingly hard to find. Any suggestions please?

Shu Uemura shampoos (eg Urban Moisture which I really like) contain SLS.
Their colour treatment shampoo doesn't contain SLS and doesn't work for me.

Sewwhatmrmagpie · 07/11/2022 19:49

Tresseme must still do a bogstandard cheap full of sls etc shampoo? I'd imagine there are lots if you read the bottles in boots/Superdrug.

KillingMeDeftly · 07/11/2022 20:06

TIGI? You can get the big salon sizes in TK Maxx for about a tenner. If you're after something more high end then Aveda shampoos have sulfates.

Herbal Essences?

WhichWitchIsTheWitch · 07/11/2022 20:19

Look at the solid shampoo bars. Smaller companies like gruum not the bandwagon ones from the main producers.

Mamette · 07/11/2022 20:19

Pantene definitely has a lot of silicones in the conditioners.

Pretty sure nearly all bog standard shampoos have sls.

declutteringmymind · 07/11/2022 20:20

Head and shoulders?

Yep. Pantene is the way to go.

ofwarren · 07/11/2022 20:22

I use pantene as my hair prefers SLS and silicones too.

ThorFull · 07/11/2022 20:38

Interesting. I only ever use Pantene and tresemme, because of how smooth and silky they make my hair. I guess I love the silicone too!

pepperaunt · 07/11/2022 21:12

this thread is just what I was looking for! I keep trying all of the sulphate/silicone free shampoos (coloured hair). All
leave my hair greasy and in need of a wash within a day or two. Back to Pantene

Afterfire · 07/11/2022 22:45

I have quite curly hair and I genuinely find most of the stuff recommended via curly girl etc horrible. I think we’re all different but they weigh my hair down so much. I find it’s much better just with good old Pantene. Sometimes I do wonder if there’s a thing between certain brands to market them through curly girl!

Nintendonasalspray · 07/11/2022 22:51

TGel or the green OGX for greasy hair.

TheGirlWhoLived · 07/11/2022 22:53

Aussie miracle has sls in,it’s of parabens too I think!

do they still make Alberto balsam?

Lastarse · 07/11/2022 22:54

I recently enjoyed using Vosene again, at £2 a bottle too.

Tryfull · 07/11/2022 22:57

Anything cheap!

Changemaname1 · 07/11/2022 23:00

Literally most of them in the shops it’s very hard to buy sulphate free in most stores

Lookingoutside · 07/11/2022 23:55

Go to Boots and take your pick!

Gubu · 08/11/2022 00:30

I was in Aldi today and picked up their lovely cheap as chips apple scented shampoo. I've tried so many expensive ones, this leaves my hair lovely, even after bring in the pool!
