Has anyone here bought the Boden merino tunic?

It's this one

I'm very tempted - it would be a dress on me - but the last sweater I bought from them went terribly bobbly very quickly...

It looks lovely in that blue.

I know what you mean about the dratted bobbling, though. Mind you, my jumper from Toast has done the same thing.

hoarsewhisperer · 29/01/2008 13:25

I bought it in blue. Lobely and not too long (even though i am only 5 foot 3). Not sure if it will bobble a it's hanging up in the cupboard at the moment, waiting for war,er weather

lucykate · 29/01/2008 13:35

i'm not impressed with any of boden's knitwear, it doesn't wash or wear well imo

yummylittlelapin · 29/01/2008 13:59

I am 5ft 1 - hmm, can't decide! I love that blue with white look (well, nautical is my thing )

are you really? I always imagined you tall. I saw someone on the telly the other night and I thought that's what LL looks like.

yummylittlelapin · 29/01/2008 14:02

ooh, who was it, was it Angelina Jolie? Rene Russo? someone tall and sophisticated?

i bought previous version in october and returned it last week, for £55 it had not worn well, wrinkly and bobbly.

i've got merino sweater dress from uniqlo, also handwash and it looks as new, so perhaps this one might be better? anyway as you can see you can get a refund from boden if it doesn't wear well so worth the risk. i don't like the shape of this one so much or i'd try it.

yummylittlelapin · 29/01/2008 14:05

ooh good tips fishie, thank you (thanks everyone)

blimey it is 11 week wait you won't want it by then.

ThePettyandIllinformedGoat · 29/01/2008 14:05

boden knitwear is shitarama

ahundredtimes · 29/01/2008 14:07

It was a woman who came on to do the sport on the 10 o'clock news on either Saturday or Sunday, can't remember which.

I hadn't seen her before. And she looked like what I think you look like. Not that Hazel lady, someone else.

SmartArse · 29/01/2008 14:07

Ooooh, that's lovely! I'd quite like one too. Looks similar to what my friend was wearing at the weekend. She had a light blue "smart" shirt underneath, opaque tights and boots and looked fab. Mind you, she's 4 months pregnant - do you think it might look like a maternity dress? Not sure I care, I might get one too!

Maidamess · 29/01/2008 14:09

I bought an identical thing in George at Asda (in brown) for about £12.

yummylittlelapin · 29/01/2008 14:18

I wonder if George do a blue one? I am proudly sporting some black patent ballet pumps from George that cost £8 and are exactly the same as a pair I saw in Vogue for £300 (well, except that they aren't leather, natch )

Hmm, I had missed the 11 week wait

100x, was it Jill Douglas? A good scottish rugby loving woman

OP posts:
ahundredtimes · 29/01/2008 14:21

Nope, not her. I'll go and have a look for her. Hang on.

ahundredtimes · 29/01/2008 14:27

She is eluding me. Maybe she was Jill Douglas. I don't know. I'll keep an eye out for her. . . .

Anyway. The tunic looks good, but you don't want it too long do you? You might look a bit drowned.

yummylittlelapin · 29/01/2008 14:28

Good point. I might order it and I can always send it back.

Do they charge you when you order, or when they deliver?

OP posts:
SmartArse · 29/01/2008 14:31

I would wear it as a dress 'cos I'm a short (Smart) arse so I'm not good with the long-tunic-over-trousers thing, much as I think it looks great on beanpoles.

Assuming it is the one my friend was wearing, it really did look great (and not bobbly!).

Having said that, I shall sit on my hands because I really mustn't spend any money!

SmartArse · 29/01/2008 14:31

I've got a free delivery code somewhere, Lapin - want me to look?

yummylittlelapin · 29/01/2008 14:33

Ooh thanks SA, but I think I have one with the 74 catalogues they send me - thanks for offering though

OP posts:
SmartArse · 29/01/2008 14:36

Oh, and I think your card is debited when the despatch the order rather than when you place it, IIRC.

fishie · 29/01/2008 15:25

oh honestly naughty lapin. i've sent for the bloody thing now. it is a lovely colour.

yummylittlelapin · 29/01/2008 17:09

LOL! You have the willpower of a particular weak-willed slug!
