Pics of my scarred face ! Spots

I suffer from what I think is cystic acne and these were once big spots that have never ever formed a head and now just seem to be permanently on my jawline, what is with the ones that have formed into a line?! Should I expect that these are here forever now ? Really gets me down. They have been there a good two years now. They feel hard and sometimes get inflamed but never form a head

You can put magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts)paste on them to see if it draws anything out. Other than that treat like scars. There are plasters you can buy especially for scars to help their appearance. They sell them on Amazon.

Thanks I'll take a look.
I can't see the magnesium paste working !

Anyone else have any experience ?

I think prescription strength Tretinoin would really help. Have a look at Dermatica or Skin and Me.

You poor thing, I had this, it's really dispiriting. GP said it was acne rosacea. I then had a referral to... I forget dermatology? I was on antibiotics for a time and put myself on a special diet. It stopped those cysts (i still have redness). Can you get a gp appointment?

arethesehereforever · 04/11/2022 20:21

I'd love to be referred to a dermatologist but can't see that happening !
I was also told it was acne rosacea too and was prescribed something for it that didn't work, I've also had duac and antibiotics in the past, nothing works .I'm just so gutted I have these ugly lumps on my face, no amount of make up would cover them

I had ivf in the past and I think those drugs made it worse

Why won't you be referred to a dermatologist? Speak to you GP and ask.

HeadacheEarthquake · 04/11/2022 20:33

Me too, prescribed salycilic acid which has really helped. Apply twice a day

Junobug · 04/11/2022 20:53

You can do an online consulation and first month for a few pounds with Dermatica or skin and me. Its then about £25 a month but I can make a tube last at least 2 months as I only use it once a day.

arethesehereforever · 04/11/2022 21:08

Well in fairness I've never asked but I have been countless times about my skin and they've never offered to do a referral either, even with pics of how bad it's been... but it's worth a shot asking I suppose !

I will definitely look at skin and me though if I have no luck. But is there really anything that will get rid of these now ? They're like wcar tissue. I didn't even realise spots could scar as lumps... it's not like they even got picked as it's impossible and painful to squeeze a spot like that !

If it really does bother you and you have any spare cash at all, consider going privately. I think you'll have a hard time getting an NHS appointment at the moment. I know nobody has any spare cash right now, but you know what I mean. A lot of people get hung up on facial skin problems. It's completely normal. And it might be worth saving for.

Ideally we would all be above such vanity, but I'm not and the couple of things I've done add up to a lot less than a designer handbag or a posh holiday, and have made me a lot happier.

If you have rosacea I would try Dermatica. I started in January and my skin looks so much better now, no constant congestion and no cystic spots. My skin is so smooth and clear now and is like the skin I used to envy on others.I have had all sorts from the doctors over the last 30 years but nothing has sorted it like the Dermatica has. I also like that it's so easy, 2 pumps at bedtime and the texture of the cream is nice. I have a code if interested

I did try originally to sign up for anti ageing but they responded that I needed the rosacea treatment

RichardsGear · 05/11/2022 08:08

Is it not keloid scarring?

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/11/2022 08:10

Look keloid to me too. You need dermatology if nothings working off the gp.

twinkleteas · 05/11/2022 08:13

Seriously, scrape together the money to have a one off consultation with a private dermatologist. You do not need to live life like this! You can't fix this kind of thing on your own

arethesehereforever · 05/11/2022 10:23

Can keloids be got rid of ?

Ireolu · 05/11/2022 10:47

Looks like keloid to me too. You need dermatology.

kingsleysbootlicker · 05/11/2022 10:54

Looks like keloid scars to me too. Are you hypermobile?

Krupkrups · 05/11/2022 11:03

I agree with @kingsleysbootlicker I'm sorry I have acne and it's rubbish. But you should definitely be able to get treatment on NHS, I think they are keloids tho.
