HELP ME... When will my hair stop falling out?

Ok, so I knew that I would have some issues with hair falling out after pregnancy & birth, but DS is 4 and a half months old now and I am still seriously moulting.

I dread washing my hair as I just seem to pull out endless strands of long dark hair. It's getting embarrasing, not because I am going bald (yet) but I am contantly picking strands of hair off my DS, from around his fingers, under his chin, from his mouth while he is feeding and the latest place... in his nappy wrapped around his bits

Will it get better? Or shall I start looking for wig makers??

LOL at wig makers

Well, my DS is 13 months now and mine is still falling out, just like you I find strands of my long dark hair everywhere and have had the nappy and bits scenario too!

I was so fed up of finding hairs everywhere that I had a good cut a few months ago and it did seem to help at first, but now its grown again I am back to square one so and considering going for a short cut now

The funny thing is I´ve got lots of new hair coming through, little short bits at the sides and even seem to be growing a little bit at the front, tis most odd and looks bloody stupid!

Thank god you you replied... was beginning to think I might be on my own in the hair loss department!! Didn't realise that it would grow back, just thought I'd end up with really thin hair!

13 months? Looks like I'd better get used to it!!

Don't worry I felt EXACTLY the same as you; it makes you feel a bit insanitary somehow doeasn't it? I used to put my hair in a band to catch any fallers but it still got absolutely everywhere.

After about 8 weeks it tailed off and now the loss in normal but my hair looks feeble and there's stragglers regrowing at the hairline which looks spoddy. i use volume shampoo and a volume spray before blowdrying and it sort of looks alright.

Don't worry, it WILL stop and no you won't need a wig! You've got loads more hair than you think so you can lose quite a bit.

LOL at Neney1

Seriously, I thought it would have stopped by now but at least I am growing some replacement hair! You may notice that you do too

Mine started to grow back, very slowly, a while after I stopped breastfeeding. I had a lovely mini crew cut about 2cm around the whole of my front and side hairline
