Shoes for Christmas nights out.

Have a few nights out over Christmas. And this year seems to be a bit more glam. But I’m struggling with shoes to wear with midi skirts, long fitted skirts etc.
I rarely wear heels anymore post covid times, but these skirts and dresses definitely look as if they need a heel and would look a bit flat with flats!. I have plenty of pointed heeled court type shoes (patent etc), but are people still wearing these?
What types of footwear are people wearing with their Christmas going out outfits?

Chunky platform sandals seem to be popular, a bit like these esskashoes.com/collections/mid-heels/products/charlie-petrol-metallic There’s loads of them around, at different price points, in metallics, leather and velvet options.

I want something with a closed toe though as don’t like the cold and want to wear tights. I’m probably going to wear a suede block heel ankle boot

The sandals come in E or EEE fitting. The E were fine on my pretty average width foot.
