Best mascara - dry sore eyes

whatever1980 · 01/11/2022 17:57

Wear L'Oréal and eyes seem to leak at sides but dry at same time. Means sore eyes I want to rub with smudged mascara from leaking eyes - lovely

Not sure if linked with aging as coming up to 42 and only a recent problem

Anyone any mascara suggestions please? My eyes disappear without it

Also any make up wipe suggestions for sensitive eyes please?

Thanks

I use Clinique Lash Power mascara, as its a tubing type. Comes off with hot water. I have very dry eyes from autoimmune disorder and its not irritated my eyes yet. It really cheap on Boots at moment - £10 down from £23

I have sjorgens syndrome - one of the symptoms is very, very dry eyes. To be honest I find it doesn’t really make a difference what mascara I wear as long as I use good eye drops - Hycosan extra (from boots or Amazon) are particularly good.

Going to get some Clinique thanks for thread OP! Interestingly I have been investigated for sjogrens but negative! So some other annoying issue 🤔

No 7 for me. Have v dry eyes, don't go for waterproof - optician tells me its worse for dry eyes than normal mascara

I had really bad eczema around my eyes - i had to give up mascara totally for a bit.

I don't use wipes on my eyes - they are too harsh. Instead e45 or baby oil or nivea on cotton wool.

Recently started using clarins waterproof mascara which has been really good.

@LeMoo funny you should mention no7 as used to wear that and not have such sore eyes

Thanks @Whataretheodds I think I need to try different wipes too. I usually use simple or Johnson's but picked up garnier and my eyes just sting
