What do you wear at home?

For me it's stretchy joggers and a Long sleeved t shirt. In summer shorts and t shirt.

I've seen a few people say they change into a dress or wear jeans when they get home but they this is outside clothing for me!

Currently some sort of hoody, either a long, dress length one with leggings, or a short one with joggings. When the weather is warmer, then a loose-ish jersey dress with cycling shorts. Sometimes I'll wear wide leg jersey trousers with a long tshirt and a woollen hoody. This time of year, bare feet or crocs if it's cold enough for socks.

Shorts and hoody

damekindness · 30/10/2022 15:55

Inside the house is no bra, elasticated waists and layered bag lady chic. Jeans (or anything with buttons and an unyielding waist) are now effectively formal wear for me nowadays.

elevenplusdilemma · 30/10/2022 15:55

Activewear. To minimise the need for ironing (due to increased electricity costs) Smile

lannistunut · 30/10/2022 15:57

I usually wear a dress with leggings or narrow trousers. I have quite a few lovely linen tunic dresses, I wear them over long sleeve tops.

Cattytabby · 30/10/2022 16:00

I genuinely look forward to changing into my huge oodie type thing on an evening. That, a cami and pj bottoms and I just need nobody to bother me for the evening and I am happy. 😁

strawberrytilda · 30/10/2022 16:04

Leggings, tracksuit trousers or pyjamas, hoodie or t shirt and no bra. I hate to be uncomfortable in my home and usually change as soon as I get inside if I have been wearing something like jeans or a dress.

mrsjimhopper · 30/10/2022 16:55

I'd like to entirely banish zips and buttons!

Loungewear, from now pretty much to April/May. I have four M&S sets that I wear on rotation.

TabithaTittlemouse · 30/10/2022 17:03

Just whatever I’m wearing for the day!
Today it’s a dress plus cardigan and tights.
If I’ve been working I shower when I get in and change into pjs but don’t get in until almost 10pm anyway.

Massiveaggressive · 30/10/2022 17:11

For sitting on the sofa after dinner I get changed into a t shirt , oodie and pj bottoms and the thick primark bed socks

but that’s only because I refuse to put the heating on - before that I would have stayed in my usual clothes til bedtime

EerilyDevilled · 30/10/2022 17:12

I don't tend to change during the day and I never stay at home for a whole day unless I'm ill so it depends where I'm going. If I have no specific plans its usually leggings, crop top bra, long vest, maybe a tee shirt and or hoody on top. Then I can do anything from shopping to allotment gardening or the gym (the latter I would change after but only to similar clothes).

runninglikewater · 30/10/2022 17:17

Jogging/pyjama bottoms and a T-shirt/vest/long sleeved top depending how warm it is.

Socks and slippers added when it's cold.

The only time you'll catch me in proper clothes is when we have guests or maybe Christmas Day. My partner is currently in jeans to lounge around. He's a fucking weirdo.

BuryingAcorns · 30/10/2022 17:48

Usually trousers with elasticated waist. I WFH and spend a lot of time crouched over a computer so tight waistbands are not OK. Cotton jersey tees or long sleeved tops and cashmere sweaters. Sheepskin boots in winter, fitflops in summer.

Sandysandwich · 30/10/2022 17:57

I just wear the same stuff all day so jeans or leggings and t-shirts or dress, cardigan and tights.
Its cold at home so I put big socks then slippers and a big hoodie over the top. Winter last year I also wore my beanie inside in the evenings and that was nice, might have to get it out again.

fernz · 30/10/2022 17:59

Depends - today it was leggings and a sweatshirt because I've not gone anywhere apart from a short walk.

On days when I've been out at work or otherwise dressed up already, I often change from my work clothes (which are smart casual anyway) into a more comfortable jersey skirt or dress, or joggers. This is partly for comfort, partly to keep work clothes tidy and partly because I don't like the idea of sitting on the sofa in something I've sat on tube seats and whatnot...

purfectpuss · 30/10/2022 20:02

Joggers and a sweatshirt usually.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/10/2022 20:17

Lounge pant type things - currently velour leopard print ones - with a jumper at this time of year. Often I keep my “day” jumper on and just change bottoms. Cosy socks, Birkenstock Boston clogs, or Uggs.

I bought an Oodie but find it is just too big and wide for anything other than just sitting in, it’s an absolute menace for knocking stuff over. I often lay it on the bed for the cat to sleep on, she loves it. Thankfully I got it cheap on Depop.

In summer I wear leggings, tee, and flip flops round the house. I have a big grey cardi from Arket that works as an extra layer all year round.

DoodlePug · 30/10/2022 20:17

At this time of year leggings and a jumper of wfh. It's comfortable and fits my lifestyle - add coat and wellies a few times a day for dog walks.

But I don't really like it. It's comfortable and practical but I'd rather wear something nice, but then I'd need to get changed to walk the dogs.

I really wish I had a lifestyle that suits the clothes I love, or loved the clothes that suit my lifestyle.

TheOGCCL · 30/10/2022 20:41

I don't change my clothes at all once I've got dressed. That could be quite late in the day on weekends so then I'm wearing PJs. The only thing in my wardrobe I wouldn't wear in the house day to day would be formal/party wear (as that would be rather odd), everything else I make sure is comfortable enough to wear all day regardless of what I'm doing. I don't have any leggings and just one pair of joggers/harems.

Absolutely this

StarlightLady · 31/10/2022 04:48

Mainly dresses. I love my dresses. This time of year usually a warm long sleeved dress. Leggings and a jumper on occasion.

With the exception of leggings, l’ve never been a great fan of trousers generally though. I’m told that as a young kid l refused to wear them.

Shitfather · 31/10/2022 07:36

PJs. As soon as I get home, I change into them. I never wear anything else at home. I’ll put on a jumper on top if on a work video call.

Afterfire · 31/10/2022 07:39

Jeans 😳😣 urggggh no thanks! Ever since covid and lockdowns etc it’s changed the way I dress. I can’t stand anything remotely uncomfortable. I wear smart ish joggers / elasticated waist tapered trousers and big baggy t shirts and sweatshirts.

MakingNBaking · 31/10/2022 08:02

I've taken to putting my pyjama bottoms on as soon as I get indoors. I usually layer my tops anyway so I keep my first layer (usually a vest top) on and I have a very soft cardy I use in the evenings.
I agree covid changed the way I dress.
