If you're ash blonde/mousey brown what highlights do you get?

As per subject title...

I mostly have blonde highlights but they vary. Now it's more natural highlights to blend in.

I forever complain about my hair but then hate regrowth if I get it done too blonde.

I have mousey brown hair, was blonde as a child by the time I hit teens it went dark, I have had highlights since my twentys, from very blonde almost white, then slightly darker blonde through to my sixtys now haven't been to the hairdressers for nearly 3 years just before lock down, I tried to grow them out, as I got so fed up with the upkeep, and never enjoyed the hairdressers, but I felt drab after 40 years being blonde so I put a few in myself, I was doing this between appointments for years so I didn't have to go so often, i have alot more of the dark mousey colour then I'm used to , I just put more bleach on if I feel its too dark.

sorry wanted to add,I use the wella highlighting kit, not with the cap now my hair is long, I just put a few strands here and there in some foil.

I've got dark blonde hair, I have 3 colours put in , my own colour, 1 shade and 2 shades lighter. It helps cover the grey!

I try to have a mix of blond and natural colour. I think it helps a bit with leaving longer between hairdresser visits. I don't like the hairdressers but feel I need brightening up!
@lindyloo57 would you share a picture of your hair? I keep thinking about trying myself!

@validnumber hope this helps, I didn't want to do a full face, the back of my hair is darker as its harder to do. I just did it, maybe better in the daytime as its getting dark here now

Just try a few at first, this week I put some in On Monday, then some more today, if they don't come out light enough I put some purple shampoo on the individual peices for ten minutes or so, then they are more ashy.

What colours do they put in? I have mousey dark blonde hair and wanted creamy highlights came out with caramel and honey shades😕
