I've tried supermarket brands, redken all soft and pureology hydrate range - nothing makes my hair feel any softer or less bushy!

You need silicone free shampoo you more than have a buildup of residue on your hair - it’ll take a fair few washes

Lsquiggles · 26/10/2022 13:40

@Allsnotwell do I need to use silicone free shampoo every wash or just as a detox? Do you have any recommendations? 😊

Silicone free shampoo will dry your hair out horribly.

I have dry thick hair and use Aussie moisture or Olaplex

I have very thick dry hair and use Cantu.Highly recommend it.

Shikamiri · 26/10/2022 14:49

Try products marketed specifically for afro hair, NOT Cantu or Shea Moisture though. Keracare is a good brand but don't get it from Superdrug as its waaaay expensive there, Look Fantastic sell it and often have deals

Lsquiggles · 26/10/2022 14:51

Thank you for the suggestions I will have a browse 😀@SavingsThreads has just reminded me that years ago I ruined my hair going blonde and the aussie deep conditioning mask made my hair super soft and saved it, I may have to repurchase!

I have the same hair type. I’ve tried all sorts and I’m now using keratase discipline, it’s pretty good but £££ unfortunately.

haribonoyoudont · 26/10/2022 14:55

The Aussie Deep Moisture and 3-Minute Miracle ranges are pretty good.

Shikamiri · 26/10/2022 14:55

im muddling my brands, Superdrug stock As I Am, not Keracare

Really not true. I have desperately dry hair. The Shampoo and conditioner bar I mentioned even manage to sort my hair out after swimming. Cheap and no plastic bottles
