Hourglass, losing weight. Capsule wardrobe for this time?

Recent name change. Gained lots of weight due to illness/steroids and thankfully off them and weight coming back and shape coming back to normal. Currently size 14/16 but hoping to get back to 10/12 over the next few months. Currently 34G bust, 31in waist, hips/bum/thighs enormous (48in). Also mum tum after 3 sections. 5ft 4 so not tall.

Oversized clothes look awful on me so I want to invest in some clothes that suit me now- happy to spend if they can be adjusted later to still fit. I’m pretty good at formal wear but struggle with jeans/casual/appropriate work gear. Wrap dresses good in theory but being short means the V is usually too deep and big boobs mean they gape and need to be pinned.

I’m looking for a capsule wardrobe to get me through the 2-3 stone weight loss I hope to achieve.

Try and tailor the tops that fit your bust to give you a waistline. I get the alterations people to nip it in a bit at the waist - it's more flattering.

I also go for tops that hit at the widest point of my thigh, which is a bit more slimming. I find that having a bigger bust means that tops get pulled up a bit and are too short as a result - hitting at the top of the thigh.

With wrap dresses, you can also get those altered so they don't gape. I would suggest wearing a bandeau style top underneath to avoid the deep V situation.

Alterations are your friend at this stage 😃

I’ve lost a lot of weight over the past year (from size30 to 14) and whilst I’ve been finding my style I’ve found Vinted invaluable, I’ve them sold clothes again as they’ve become too big so it’s been minimal cost for always having well fitted clothes

Wow well done on the weight loss! Vinted is a good shout thanks.

Silent thank you too. I do generally wear a top under a wrap dress but feel they are nicer without
