Where can I go to get a good bra fitting?

I have a major issue with my large sized breasts and started a thread yesterday saying "I'm sick and tired of only being seen for my breasts." Every man who wants to date me or has taken me on a date has one thing in common; my boobs. "Can I see them?" "I want to put my dick in 'em" etc.
Anyway, long story short, as suggested by so many ladies, I think I need to take the time to get the right size bra.

The issue is that I never know what my bra size is. I discovered that, despite having the same bra size from different retailers, it fits very differently. I was discussing this with a friend yesterday, and she mentioned M& S, but most of the ladies yesterday advised me against M& S, instead recommending Bravissimo. Unfortunately, I live a long distance from London and there is no Bravissimo nearby.

Please let me know.

Use the Boob or Bust method to measure at home and then go somewhere like John Lewis to try on various brands and styles in that size (and the sizes close to it, for comparison). Once you know what works for you, you can then order online in the future.

sanityisamyth · 25/10/2022 13:13

Bravissimo is great.

sanityisamyth · 25/10/2022 13:14

Just read the end bit. Try Boob or Bust.

theemmadilemma · 25/10/2022 13:16

Boob or bust method. (I'm 47 and only just wearing the right size!)

I then went to Boux Avenue who helped me find a well fitting style as well.

Annoyingly it turns out I'm one of those sizes you have to go to a proper bra shop to get - small back, full cup.

TheOGCCL · 25/10/2022 14:12

I echo the point about avoiding M&S. Bravissimo are best imo. They aren't just in London
www.bravissimo.com/shops/all/

I went to Bravissimo when I'd lost a bit of weight and they didn't change my bra size (which they'd determined years ago in the first place) but did get me into a different style. With bras it's just not about the size.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 25/10/2022 14:17

Do you live anywhere near Sheffield?

Blondieturtle · 25/10/2022 14:20

@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads No, I am in Kent

I would recommend Molke
Which is a rather different sizing to the others
And a bit more flexible / tolerant of tjme of month changes or asymmetry
They tend not to over emphasise your shape
Oh and if you are on the pill that can cause you to expand a bit

ErrolTheDragon · 25/10/2022 14:30

Do you have to book fittings at bravissimo?

Selfesteem22 · 25/10/2022 20:27

I go to the Cambridge one and never have

Ashmoose25 · 25/10/2022 23:17

@ErrolTheDragon I don't think you need an appointment. Their website says it's walk-in, but I'd rather call ahead before going unannounced.

Ashmoose25 · 25/10/2022 23:19

@midgetastic So, does Molke have physical locations or is it only available online? Is there a fitting service?

Ballsaque · 25/10/2022 23:21

I found a fantastic independent shop near me (sadly nowhere near you!).

the bras are so comfy and not too expensive.

perhaps there’s somewhere local to you like that?

Coffeepot72 · 25/10/2022 23:23

I think Molke could be an acquired taste?

butterflyflutterby123 · 25/10/2022 23:23

Sorry op but bravissimo is really worth it. Is a day trip to the nearest one a reasonable price to get a bunch of Greta bras that fit you? Could make a day of it adn have lunch ....

MyGirlDaisy · 25/10/2022 23:24

Just seen you are in Kent. I highly recommend a lady in Faversham if you can get there, she is called The Bra Boss, she is absolutely brilliant.

butterflyflutterby123 · 25/10/2022 23:25

And separately, sorry about all the comments from men .... You are a lot more than your boobs 💐💐

Try Bella Rosa. She is on Instagram. You can see all the before and after.

blondiecurly · 26/10/2022 19:12

@butterflyflutterby123 Thanks 😊

Crimsonripple · 26/10/2022 19:33

The style of bra changes my size. I discovered this recently in M&S - the lady I saw couldn't have been more helpful. I have 2 different styles of bra now and they're in a different cup and width. Both fit nicely.

Luckycatt · 26/10/2022 19:53

If bravissimo had only one shop and it was 1000 miles away, I'd still go there.

They size you by sight, not a measuring tape, because each bra design is different and your size will change. Even with a size that 'should' fit by the tape measure, the design of the bra might be completely wrong for your boobs. My boobs are relatively far apart, apparently, so not all styles suit me. When I go for a fitting, I'll spend an hour or so there, trying on different bras brought to me by one of their fitters. And I'll leave the shop with a few bras that are amazingly comfortable, fit me perfectly and make my boobs look great!

ErrolTheDragon · 26/10/2022 20:02

Thanks for the replies re appointments. I want to try it sometime but rarely in a big enough city.

AnnaMagnani · 26/10/2022 20:06

I used to travel from Devon to London just to go to Rigby and Peller before there were multiple branches or Bravissimo.

It was worth it.

longtompot · 27/10/2022 11:35

I've just measured myself using the BoB method and it says I am a 34GG! I currently am wearing bras in 34C and 36D which are already a bit gaping on the cups so surely a GG would be even more, well, roomy?

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 27/10/2022 11:37

For me I'm not overly keen on Bravissimo, have been and tried.

Rigby and Peller are great but also try a local lingerie shop which specialises in larger sizes. I'm lucky in my area of SE London/Kent, there are about 3 really good local shops like this who I use.
