I'm on a bit of mission to find non-frumpy, flat knee-high boots...i'm late 40s, and have missed them so much..not to wear with skinny jeans anymore, but with short or midi skirts - so I can just go out and not worry about getting cold legs etc...I bought these...but they are just too clumpy for me, but the more delicate ones look old-fashioned...what's the compromise, anyone know!? These are Shoe The Bear, Patti. Thanks.

I have 3 pairs of the Clarks black OTK boots. They are so comfortable. And they don't come up much over the knee - I'm 5 5.
Hardly Julia Robert's territory

WithIcePlease · 24/10/2022 08:57

Oh and I have more than 10 years over you

joan12 · 24/10/2022 08:59

I have the Jones ones in a slim calf fit and can confirm they are gorgeous and worth the price tag. I had a similar process OP, bought some fit flop ones that were just weirdly baggy round the ankle!

Fairyliz · 24/10/2022 09:04

I personally don’t like clumpy boots but I actually think they look great on you, as you appear to have a lovely willowy figure.
From what I can see in those photos you look like someone in their 20’s.

LesserKnownKardashian · 24/10/2022 09:08

I have these Duo Marvel boots. They come in different calf widths. £££ but comfortable.

I think over the knee boots are very old fashioned aren’t they? Can’t you just wear ankle boots and nice Willy tights

Shockmeafter · 24/10/2022 09:12

Haha woolly!

Whataretheodds · 24/10/2022 09:20

I think the ones in your OP look great!

Much more modern than the Clarks ones

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/10/2022 09:21

I like your original ones too. Very on trend and I don't think they look too wellyish.

IrisVersicolor · 24/10/2022 09:35

Stretch boots a very good for slim legs.

I love the original boots, too.

I’ve just got some Shoe The Bear chunky loafers, and I can confirm they are soooo comfortable.

Mamette · 24/10/2022 09:42

I like the original ones too OP. I’m 46 and would definitely wear them as you have with the midi skirt.

i would probably wear the mini skirt too except my knees are not as good as yours.

LaCerbiatta · 24/10/2022 12:13

I love the original ones as well and will actually be ordering them to try. The thick sole is very on trend and balances out my (and the op's) thin legs.

LaCerbiatta · 24/10/2022 12:13

Oh and I'm nearly 49!

TFZ9287 · 24/10/2022 12:28

Try the Fairfax and Favour Regina boots - they are the only ones that fit my narrow calves as they come in 3 different calf sizes and look super cute with a skirt

I like current chunky boot look, but unfortunately on the OP they do just look like wellies.

Theory did some fab stretch leather chunky soled boots for slim legs but they were over £500.

IrisVersicolor · 24/10/2022 12:58

These.

I have the clarks OTK boots in black leather, I love them

BHRK · 24/10/2022 18:51

I really think knee high boots have had their day, I think they’re old fashioned.
how about suede ankle boots and just really thick tights (M&S thermal lined are really cosy!)

All the fashion websites are saying knee highs are in this season!

I have Dune Tayla. They're suede with stretch so good for slim legs. I don't like chunky styles so they're perfect for me!

Slowgrowingelm · 24/10/2022 19:01

I’ve been wearing knee highs and ankle boots for 25 years, at least. Otk for a good 12 years. None of them go out of fashion. You may see slightly less of one style or another, year on year - but they’re always there.
