My DD had her nose pierced in June and all healed fine. Lately she has been waking up in the morning and there is like crusty pus around and sometimes it bleeds and is a little red. She has been putting a saline solution on it (like she did when it had just been pierced!) and just dabbing round the sides with wet kitchen towel. It doesn't hurt or it isn't swollen. She had a cold a couple of weeks ago so I think she aggravated it by blowing her nose.
She doesn't really want to take it out as she is not sure how easy getting it back in will be as her friend did this and couldn't get it back in.
She is on half term this week so she could go into the shop where she had it pierced but as I said I don't think it is infected just a bit gunky. Very similar to ear piercing holes getting gunky - but with that I usually take earring out and clean with TCP but as I said she doesn't really want to do this.
Any ideas on what to do? Will saline solution clear it if she keeps doing it??
