Can I use tret occasionally as a skin peel

I used it for about 6 months building up tolerance slowly, slowly, but got fed up with dry skin patches all the time.

I stopped in August and last week I caught myself in the mirror and my pores looked dirty and my skin was dull.

So I brought out the tret and used it 4 days in a row. My skin was sore by day 3 but I did one more day.

A few days of moisturising after I had stopped and my face looks good without the dry patches that I know I would still have if I carried on.

So basically is it OK to use tret as a skin peel every now and again?

Technically you can but since the results will only be temporary and it's difficult to anticipate dosage (for lack of a better term, just the balance of how often and when to stop being difficult to assess as it's spread out over days and potentially ending up with breakouts or excessive dryness) for surface level results that make you very sun damage sensitive it just makes more sense to use a dedicated peel product that's designed to that without all the unpredictability. The reason people stick it out with tret is for the long term benefits and the surface level results are a nice bonus, but using it occasionally as a peel wouldn't deliver that.

I wouldn't. I'd just use a glycolic acid peel.
