I have a pair of their shoes and a bag. I really love the brand and would like to buy a couple of garments, most likely knitwear and maybe a shirt.
Anything you recommend?
I love the Achille cardigan (I think there is a new one replacing it now), does it lose hair?
Ia gaspard worth it? And the tomboy shirt?
I might be able to visit their London store soon and would like to try a few things on, however, I will have limited time as will go in between meetings so want to ensure I target the right stuff!

Their 100% organic cotton knitwear that's made in Italy is lovely. I also love the Pierrot shirts; they're a good fit for the short of arms and are always in the archives sale, though if there's a print you really like I'd just get it. Always check the composition on Sézane items as it can often have a level of synthetics that I find unacceptable for that price point. The composition can vary between different colours and prints in the same item.

Chloe silk shirts. I have 4 now and wear all the time. They go with everything :)

Marghe87 · 15/10/2022 12:01

@JulesGeebee I am OBSESSED with that shirt. So beautiful😍 can you iron it or too delicate??

I love Sezane and have too many of their clothes! I have 3 Chloe shirts and they're gorgeous but a little difficult to look after. They need hand washing but can iron no problem. I have a few pairs of the wide leg trousers. I have a few Leah shirts too and they hang beautifully. I have the white tomboy with red kisses on it. I've got a few bits of knitwear but they can be a little scratchy if you have sensitive skin. I have lots of the fine merino wool jumpers and these are much easier to wear. Have lots of the belts too and feel these really elevate an outfit. I've got a few bags too 😂 God I really need to stop buying.
I've never really liked the Gaspards-think they look a little too plain and wide necked for my shape but I realise most others love the them.
I would join the Facebook groups-they are super helpful.

Wakemeup17 · 15/10/2022 20:41

Everything I bought from them has been fantastic. I don't buy their dresses as I need a bra and lots of them are really low cut.

Tiddlywinkly · 15/10/2022 20:51

Gaspard and Leontine jumpers and the Tomboy shirt. I also love the Othello cardigan. I've got it in beige and black now.

What I will say is you have to be prepared to hand wash the knitted stuff and all the faff that comes with it (but it's worth it).

DramaAlpaca · 15/10/2022 21:14

I love their shirts.

Houseplantmad · 15/10/2022 21:31

I love Sezane but only have one top. Does the knitwear bobble at all?

whiskeyfoxtrotcharlie · 15/10/2022 22:02

Definitely go to the shop when you're in London because, as the poster above says, the fabrics can be variable and I find some pieces feel too thin/cheap for the price points. I usually buy 2/3 items of knitwear a year but only if I've seen and touched them first. Personally I find the Gaspard too boxy to be flattering but I am small and find such shapes hard to carry off. Some of the fluffy knitwear is a bit itchy.

I have two Chloe shirts but in cotton as the silk is a little too thin. They are great for layering with sleeveless tank tops as the sleeves are a pretty shape and the ruffle neck is a nice detail. I find the Pierro shirts very thin and they tend to crease easily. I have a blue Tomboy which I love but it has sprouted a hole on the front which is very annoying, as the fabric feels good quality. I am very careful with my clothes so have no idea how that happened. Be very careful with the Mariniere tops, the thick cotton shrinks even if washed on a 30 deg wool wash in a net bag. I would not recommend those. I complained to customer services as mine shrunk 2 cms all round after the first wash but they refused to refund me and said that level of shrinkage was not a fault. I was not impressed.

I love the jackets - especially the Christie and Willa – and the belts. Haven't bought any bags, but have some ankle boots from a few years ago and they've held up really well although I did have them resoled before first wearing them as was recommended by the salesperson in store.

When you go in the store if you don't see what you want just ask, they often have quite a 'curated' selection out and more stock downstairs.

viewsoftheshard · 15/10/2022 22:07

I also have two of the Chloe shirts in silk, really good style. . Also love their shoes, really good comfortable pumps. And the striped tomboy shirt is great, nice thick cotton that holds it’s shape. Haven’t tried their knitwear though as looks a bit itchy.

Sooverthemill · 16/10/2022 04:55

I have far too many! The knitwear that contains mohair and other fibres tend to shed and can be itchy. I only buy their 100% merino or cotton knitwear now. I have many shirts (tomboy and pierro plus random
others), jeans, jackets, boots, t shirts. The quality is mixed but the pieces I have kept stand up very well to washing and wearing. The store doesn’t always carry full stock. You can order to the store to make sure stuff is there and get an immediate refund

JulesGeebee · 16/10/2022 09:52

@Marghe87 yes! I hand wash with silk wash. hang on back of a chair to dry and iron on mark 2. Always turn out beautifully :)

WarmBeerAndSandwiches · 16/10/2022 17:04

I love Sezane but they are getting very pricey and the customer service can be dire - £170 for a dress made of polyester is waaay overpriced. I have quite a few Gaspards and a couple of Olympe cardigans and love a lot of their knitwear but some of it can be itchy so it is a bit hit and miss. I loved the Mena and Elea tee-shirts but found some of the more basic tee-shirts like the Conrad a bit poor quality. All of the blouses I've bought have been beautiful - particularly the Chloe - and the two skirts I have bought, one of which was silk, have been lovely too.

Unfortunately, apart from the price v composition issue they are having other problems. They seem to have expanded very quickly and their customer service can be very unresponsive. They recently changed to Evri for deliveries when it used to be DHL and that has had a knock-on effect on deliveries. There also seems to be a theft issue somewhere as a lot of people in the Facebook fan groups have sent items back only for them to 'disappear' en route and Sezane have not been particularly helpful about it.

So, all in all, the clothes are stylish and beautiful but I go through phases where I can't be bothered with the hassle of ordering from them. They need to get their customer service act together or I think they will lose a lot of customers. If you do buy from them use Paypal as then you can file for a Paypal refund if your parcel goes missing or there is something else wrong regardless of what Sezane say - Sezane themselves often just keep telling you to wait for a parcel for days when it's clearly gone astray or never been despatched in the first place.

I find their customer service excellent. Free returns and the refunds come through in just a couple of days.
I’ve got a lot of their knitwear and don’t find it itchy but don’t have sensitive skin. I’ve also had bags and shoes that are lovely quality. A few tops - all nice and kept their shape.
you do have to be very careful with washing it. I wash my knitwear on a 20C machine wash

Maybe they've upped their game recently or maybe you've just been lucky, refunds can occasionally be quick but often take weeks in my experience. There have been issues ages with many negative experiences reported on their Facebook fan pages and Trustpilot. I keep hoping it will get better so it heartens me if you've been having a better experience.

I don't have particularly sensitive skin either, I still found some of their knitwear very itchy and it was disappointing as I loved it. A lot of people do from what I've read but I suppose it depends on the person.

Taranta · 16/10/2022 19:47

I’ve got a lot of their knitwear, gorgeous blue, pink and purple shades, soft and expensive looking, I do hand wash them though. I have a few shirts, and sandals. Not cheap but worth every penny and people always ask where stuff is from when I wear Sézane.

Sooverthemill · 17/10/2022 10:03

I've never had an issue with returns/ refunds but have only been buying from them since 2019. I usually get a refund the day after the return gets dropped off at the Evri point and even before when it was mainly DHL refunds took 3 days. I think all couriers have issues with theft which appears to happen at the hub when initially distributed at the airport. But I've never had a box split or damaged and all my items arrive perfect. The reason I do returns is be buying online it's hard to get the sizing right.

I sell on stuff I find I'm not wearing or get bored with and at the moment it's holding it's price so I feel they are value for money. I'm careful about what materials I buy from any retailer. Sézane does at least have Corp B status which is an indication of their values ( absolutely accept it's not a perfect system) like Baukjen for example . And they are not Shein which makes them 1000 times better

JMAngel1 · 17/10/2022 16:16

Just had a look at the site - luckily for my bank balance, a lot of it is too fussy/patterned for my taste but there are some beautiful plain wide v neck jumpers (?rosa) in gorgeous dusty blue and deep rose. The bodysuits look nice too but sooo pricey. Also gobsmacked that elasticated waist trousers are £130!!!!

The website has a beautiful aesthetic though - can see why it’s so popular - British ladies buying into the French girl vibe.

toucaninjapan · 30/10/2022 12:03

I find Gaspards really versatile and easy to style, I also have a couple of Pierro shirts, some t-shirts, sweatshirts, a mariniere with a beautiful custom-made embroidery (and no shrinking in wash whatsoever), some belts and some jewelry. If I had to choose what to recommend from Sezane, I'd say belts and maybe some piece from their beautiful knitwear collection as they are really unique and will make you feel tres chic when you wear them. Grin

However Sezane has its downsides, I've received dirty items several times, just to give an example, the last time was when I ordered an XS Gaspard in powder blue, ended up receiving an S Gaspard which had lots of foundation stains on the inside around collar. Thanks God at least the color was the same as I ordered lol! No solution was provided, I've generally found Sezane's customer service to be not very helpful. If you join Facebook groups dedicated to Sezane, you will see lots of people posting about holes opening up in their viscose or silk skirts after one wear, buttons falling off etc. Looks like quality may be a bit of a hit and miss while all their pieces regardless of material and where they are produced are equally high. Also it looks like some people get blocked from shopping at Sezane because of complaints re items quality etc in the past, at least I saw a lot of people in the French group mention it.
Tbh I love Sezane's items, but I'm not sure whether I should continue loving them as they really do a bit too many mishaps for my liking. 😬

toucaninjapan · 30/10/2022 12:05

*have mishaps

Sooverthemill · 31/10/2022 09:08

@toucaninjapan I've never heard of anyone being blocked! And I have had nothing but excellent customer service whenever I've needed to contact them. Seriously I am always surprised by this when people say it's happened . Likewise damaged, dirty items. I own 66 sezane items and have returned several others. Not one has ever been in a damaged or opened box and each item has been in impeccable condition . I wonder if it's be you are outside EU/UK? Maybe delivery is harder

Saurus72 · 31/10/2022 09:59

Has anyone had a discount code this morning? I used mine to order an Alicia skirt.

I’ve also found the quality and customer service to be fantastic. I went to the Sezane apartment in Paris recently and they were really nice in the shop too.

Sooverthemill · 31/10/2022 10:44

I got the code but trying not to buy! Is is 10%?

Sooverthemill · 31/10/2022 11:16

I have a ordered a Max @Saurus72 as it’s on my wish list and £20 off is good

Saurus72 · 31/10/2022 11:24

It’s definitely not cheap but like you I’ve been looking at that skirt for aaagggeess and there’s a gap in my war drove. Lots of cashmere jumpers just begging for a lovely skirt to pair with them 😊
