Hi all
I have very long, very fine (recently thinning - ? menopause?) dark brown hair, that now contains 60%+ white. I started with a white streak at the front, and I am now totally white at the front, with lots and lots of white throughout the rest of my hair.
I used to dye it blue black - before everyone went colour mad, but there was little choice and ended up with permanent, rather than semi. That was one of the things that made me stop colouring. My hair that was brown would go blue black, and the white would just go bright blue! I always got compliments.
However, it's been a few years since my last dye job, and there are so many new colours and products it's bewildering. I am looking for a fairly cheap, blue or blue/black hair dye that is semi permanent. I want something that will dye the white bright blue - not hugely bothered about the colour it ends up in the brown. I always used to choose blue with black for the dramatic look. I am now 50 and not sure I can pull it off anymore, which is one reason for semi, the other being roots! There is no way I would keep up to my roots, and I can't afford to anyway. I am planning on having it cut - maybe a shaggy lob or simply a long bob with some layering around the face.
So, what do you suggest?
