They have pockets!
Sick of annoying women's pj bottoms so got these.
Comfy drawstring waist.
2 pack charcoal/black.
I'm a size 12 and a medium fits perfectly.

Ooh, good idea!
I have stopped buying womens socks and now just buy mens as the quality is so much better. Next socks seem to last the longest ime.

I buy mens shorts for camping and scouts as they have a lovely big zip up pocket that fits a phone.

MintyGreenDreams · 12/10/2022 20:22

Lovely material too and plain which is what I prefer over patterned

I just bought a similar sounding set of 'loungewear' from the Any Day range at John Lewis. Comfy, plain colours and pockets!

I've been buying menswear alternatives for some items since I first starting buying my own clothes. Shirts (love a long line collarless version), jumpers, shorts, casual trousers all suit my body shape better than most women's alternatives. The quality is often better and for those of us straight of hip / larger of waist, the leg width is great as slimmer cut and no assumption that large waist must mean huge hips. They have pockets you can use, made of heavier fabric, often good cotton / natural fibre content and less odd trimmings. Dressing gowns also longer and none of the 'to the knee' nonsense (don't we need to keep our legs warm?). They are also cheaper too!

Sort of totally off subject (but not Grin)

When will clothing manufacturers start putting inside pockets in women's coats?
Oh and when will they start making full length women's trousers again, instead of ankle gazers and the like?

1st world problems I know, but it's annoying.

I 'borrowed' DS's lovely brushed cotton pyjama bottoms (Primark), and was surprised not surprised to find they have lovely big pockets!

I need this thread.

Have spent the last week trying to find warm separate PJ tops and bottoms for me. Very few affordable separates around that are dark colours and warm material yet can buy for DH no trouble. Don't the men's ones have extra ahem material in the gusset?

The Primark ones have no ahem gusset. Well last winter they didn't; doubt they've added one. My son's are dark green tartan, brushed cotton with an ankle cuff. And the pockets. Very cosy.

I don't find men's trousers to have any extra material as I wear them on my waist and they wear them on the hips.

Ankle grazers are also supposedly the fashion for men too, but I think manufacturers also know how impervious some men are to the current fashion and also make normal stuff too.

BrianWankum · 13/10/2022 07:16

Men’s trousers are always a good length as well, I always find women’s pyjama trousers to be a bit short, and you don’t want a draught!

Stressybetty · 13/10/2022 07:25

Have already bought DH some tu ones, I will try them on for size!

MinervaTerrathorn · 13/10/2022 07:26

Some of the length is taken up by wearing them higher than a man would, so not too long on me at 5ft 5. Women's are all too short.

Just updating to report bought the TU 2 pack black and grey cuffed fleecy bottoms in XL. Feeling rotten after Covid booster and snuggled up in them. Had to buy a couple of long sleeve tops from Matalan in the end which aren't very warm but I need a v neck.
