Help! Broken my arm - what to wear?

I’ve stupidly broken my arm in a ladder-related accident. Luckily it’s not too painful, but I’m in a rigid plaster cast from hand to elbow (can wiggle my fingers and bend my elbow), and meant to be wearing a sling most of the time. Any tips on how to dress? I can’t get my arm into anything I have except short sleeved T-shirts, I've been going out with a cardigan draped over my ‘bad arm’ shoulder but it’s fiddly.
I’m thinking poncho and pull-on trousers. Any other ideas? I’m 5’9” 12/14 pear if that makes any difference. 🤕

I have DD in a cast at the moment. I've had to take her school dresses to the tailor because I couldn't get them over her cast. The tailor has split the sleeve and part of the side seem and has added little popper buttons so we can get it over the cast. She also said adding a stretchy gusset was another option. Afterwards the seems can be repaired so back to normal. Do you have any tops that a tailor could make an adjustment to?
For jumpers we've gone with super soft stretchy wool blend types and can ease them over the cast.
Hope you heal well and the next few weeks fly by!

Thanks spottygymbag, some good ideas there. I’ve just been experimenting with some jumpers using a thin carrier bag (co-op) over the cast to help slide the sleeve on and off.

When I broke me leg (different I know but the idea is the same), I went to primark and bought a few pairs of leggings, then cut one of the legs off. Due to the cast - my leg didn't get cold, but the other was nice and cosy. Could you do the same with some cheap stretchy long sleeved tops, cut them off at the elbow? Then a nice poncho style jumper over the top.
If you do this, make sure you ditch the tops once you've finished with them. I didn't and kept going to put leggings on that only had one leg!😂

I bought this last season, not cheap but cost per wear is already really good:

it’s not a practical as other advice but surely you deserve a treat

Loving the mixture of economical and luxury ideas, thanks! Anyone else bought a stylish poncho-type item recently to recommend?

I have one very similar to this and love it. Warm and cosy and looks great with jeans.
