Hi
I’m 53, shoulder length hair that I get coloured at the roots but that doesn’t get dyed at the ends anymore. I’m blond with 50% grey that I have colour as all at the front it’s really dry so dry that when it is wet from the shower or still feels dry ! I want it to be shiny and in good condition
I’ve tried lots of treatments - redken all soft, garnier banana food treatment, olaplex the list is endless
i use redken all soft shampoo and conditioner and was it every 2-3 days
i then use oil, blow dry and then quick random straightening then serum to finish
before I try another regime at yet more £ any ideas that work on old dry hair !!
TIA

Stop straightening it for a start

@User84 i literally only run the straightener through on the top layer where I can’t get smoothness

That’s the worst but to straighten though.

it really will make a difference if you cut out the straighteners and hairdryer.

Have you tried coconut oil in it? If that doesn’t work then I find the frizz ease hair mask is the best thing for adding moisture very quickly.

I really love umberto giannini grow mask. Transformed my dry old hair (it’s frizzy and long) and is the only thing to make it shiny. You can get from Waitrose and Ocado.

I tried olaplex, the two bottle treatment (0 and 3 maybe) but honestly it did nothing. Having spent so much on it I will keep trying and see if it just takes time. I don't even straighten. Sorry. I wish I had a better answer for you. Following to see if anyone else does.

Coconut oil, slather it on and leave on overnight or as long as possible then do 2 shampoos and condition as normal.

Have a look at Moroccan oil.

Don’t put olaplex on too frequently. It’s a protein treatment. Too much protein will really dry out your hair and make it brittle.

it’s a once a month ish treatment

Redken all soft shampoo, conditioner and the heavy cream as a treatment once a week
