it really is an idiotic diet. consume unlimited fat and protein, restrict veg and never eat fruit. fill up with water. of course you lose weight but i shudder to think of the liver and kidneys. i expect she had a slice of cake and put on 10 stone.

Freckle · 26/01/2008 14:06

It's rather like the Atkins diet, isn't it? Incredible weight loss but equally incredible weight gain once you eat something not allowed on the diet.

CaptainCod · 26/01/2008 14:06

i liek india.

have you read any of her novels? i'd like her more if i hadn't.

ZippiBabes · 26/01/2008 14:14

in the comments underneath one of the writers says that a dietician told her that at 51 she woul;d never lose weight what a load of bollox

india does look quite well covered in that foto to me but if she is happy and thinner than she was then good for her

not sure that merits promoting a book tho

i still believe that eating less food and being really honest and truthful to yourself and doing loads and loads of exercise (15 minute walk a day will do nowt imo) is the only way to lose weight

and the food you eat has to work for you..dont eat anything that is going to be a waste

and if you arent losing weight at a moderate rate then you have to increae exercise and tweak what you eat until you get back on track

TheDullWitch · 26/01/2008 14:16

But if you're doing a diet book and say "Be Like Me" and "I haven t regained a pound" and you take a look at the back of her book when she's in a tight dress, it is clearly utter bollocks. And makes her look fraudulent.

fishie · 26/01/2008 14:17

i was motivated to lose weight after reading her diet book, but not on her diet. i just doubled my exercise and halved my food intake. and gave up cheese [sob]

ZippiBabes · 26/01/2008 14:19

oh i have found a new cheese chaource it is delicious

i also think that you should weigh yourself all the time..i found that a real help

CaptainCod · 26/01/2008 15:50

i think eating 5 portions of furit nad veg a day ( harder htan oyu think) make you so sodding full you havent room

i do htink some women though are compulisve.. a mate of mine said that if thee is chocolate int he hosue( even shit stuff0 she will eat ti ALL till tis gone)
that takes some doing

ZippiBabes · 26/01/2008 15:54

oh i have no will power to speak of i am a total addict to any random passing thing

i have to try really really hard to discipline myself whether it's a bottle of wine or a chicken carcase

but it can be done

you just have to forbid all the things which you can't resist..so no chocolate or no pringles oir whatever or french bread or humous or whatever you would eat too much of and have very small portions

and don't stand by the fridge eating stuff
