Help for menopause/acne/greasy skincare please?!

I'm 59, well past meno madness. I used to use high quality skincare - Clinique, Liz Earle especially - when I had some money.

But I've had an 'interesting' financial decade which means I'd got down to whatever micellar water was cheapest in Superdrug and a splodge of E45 body lotion as moisturiser.

But I've actually got a decent income at the moment at last, I want to pull myself together self care wise - and haven't the faintest idea where to start!

I have very greasy skin and since about 12 have had something acneish going on. Over the years I've had various dermatologist prescriptions but the breakouts had calmed away. Until this month when I've developed an alarming crop. 'You'll grow out of it,' they said. Huh.

I've also noticed distressing things happening jowl-wise, my hands look older than I am and I want to protect from further disintegration. I want to look nice in pics, on Teams calls and in person, to protect from the sun and feed and nourish and see the benefits in later life. All those good things.

Everything acne related seems squarely aimed at teens and twenties and I'm a bit worried that too rich products might greasify and make things worse.

Can anyone advise on a happy medium
please? Super expensive isn't realistic, high street and department stores would be the £ range.

Thankyou!

The best thing I ever did for my skin was take HRT.

Definitely, I think hrt kept my sanity and stopped the hourly hot flushes and panicky racing heart business.

Watching in the hope someone has some recommendations too. I’m on HRT but my T zone is an oil slick. My neck and cheeks are normal/dry. I don’t get breakouts but I can’t find anything that doesn’t make the oil situation worse or overly dry the dryer areas. I’ve tried Clarins (which was the worst), Clinique (made my eyes run), Estée Lauder (made my skin worse ), Garnier, Olay, Aldi etc. doesn’t seem to matter how much or how little I spend, everything is universally not helping.

I take Equi London Beauty Formula daily. Also use Hyaluronic acid under Nivea moisturiser twice daily. Cleanse with Neutrogena. If I do break out I use a topical antibiotic (Zineryt). My 53 year old skin stays just about okay!

I found myself with hormonal spots for the first time in my life. Did a bit of googling and found a recommendation for Garnier Organic Thyme Purifying Perfecting toner. So far, not one spot.

I'd consider niacinamide.
I think it can be easy to class your skin as greasy if its not being moisturised sufficiently (as parched skin produces oil).

Would your budget stretch to a Dermatica subscription? You can have various things added including tretinoin, azelaic acid, clindamycin and niacinamide.
