Ageing sun spots on face - treatment

I have a couple of sun damage spots on face and wonder what the best treatment is to minimise/get rid of (obvs the best would have been factor 50+ earlier in life etc..)

I've had a consultation about lazer treatment but am anxious that apparently initially they will get darker and look worse before scabbing up and falling off and that freaks me out a bit. I wondered about seeing a dermatologist to get medical strength retinol because apparently that is good to deal with these kind of blemishes? Has anyone had treatment for sunspots and can comment on what's worked for them? thank you

Had laser treatment - worked brilliantly. The dark spots is only for a week or so. You need to use high spf afterwards though.

And I didn't have any scabbing.

@ThePoetsWife ohhh thank you! Did it improve your complexion overall or just deal with the sunspots?

Yes my skin is a lot clearer now - just need to keep out of the sun otherwise it's all for nothing.

You could try Vaseline dark spot treatment from boots/Superdrug. Its a hand cream for use on the chest as well, but I use it directly on my sun spots on my cheeks. It has faded them massively, I was so sceptical before but I read the reviews and its only 4 pounds roughly. I used it every day and after a week you see a difference and now been using for around 5/6 weeks and they are almost gone. so obviously takes longer but could be worth a try before laser Treatment.

I have a couple and started using Skin and Me last year aaand

Still have the marks Confused

I keep using it as it's cleared up my acne and I have better skin generally, but the sun spots are all still there. I do use factor 50 as a daily moisturiser too

So I'd laser!

@confused162 thank you! I'll try this - getting an appt for laser will be a while anyway so worth a go in the meantime.
