I really like this - but is it warm or cool?

For some reason I can't stop going back to this, but I can't remember the last time I wore any kind of purple and I'm worried it'll wash me out (my colouring is neutral - warm).

Is this lilac a cool tone or a warm one? I'm rubbish at being able to tell, especially online!

Also I live in a tricky place for shipping, so would rather not just-order-in-order-to-try-and-return-if-not-right, IYSWIM.

This looks cool to me.

Cheeselog · 06/10/2022 16:54

Ooh that is lovely. It’s cool but the model looks warm-toned so maybe you’d be ok!

Purpleavocado · 06/10/2022 16:55

Lilac is generally cool unless it's more of dusty mauve shade. I'm warm in the Summer, neutral in the winter and cannot wear lilac without a tan or it makes me look ill.

TightDiamondShoes · 06/10/2022 16:57

That colour IS MY BEST colour and I’m an Ashey blue-eyes, blue-skinned Scot.

she looks incredible - but then she’d look good in a bin bag.

dumbstruckdumptruck · 06/10/2022 17:04

@Purpleavocado I have a hunch that I might be the same – with a tan, this colour could be great... without, disaster. SO interesting to hear your colours shift based on the season... it makes so much sense but I'd never thought of that before!

@TightDiamondShoes @Goldfishjones I thought it looked cool, too, but as you said, @Cheeselog the model looks warm-toned...

I'm SO CONFUSED! 😂

I think cool but the model has warmed it up with gold jewellery, which could work for you.

Alltheseasonsaregood · 06/10/2022 17:15

Cool. I think warmth wd actaully be gd as it wd contradict the coolness.

squashandrun · 06/10/2022 17:29

I'd argue it could be either but gold jewellery and brown boots/jacket would warm it up. It's gorgeous, definitely buy it!

Ah ok well it will be perfect then 🤣

In that case I find dancing leopard comes up big if that helps for choosing sizes ✅

It most certainly does - thank you!

Still deeply unsure about this colour but I might just have to take the plunge or I'll wonder until I die...

The thing about seasons is that they're your best colours it's not an automatic no to other colours. Try it and see. I'm a spring veering on autumn and could get away with it.

PurpleBrocadePeacock · 06/10/2022 20:26

Can you find something in the Lilac colour and compare with with your skin tone/hair/eyes to see before you order?

Apricot is the warmer version of this pastel. I think I have a warm summer colouring and can get away with lilac but have to be careful with light pinks not being too orange.

TheOGCCL · 06/10/2022 23:13

Very very cool
