Prom dress for DD

I'm looking for your suggestions (preferably links to dresses or websites) for prom dresses for a 16yr old girl who isn't a fan of wearing dresses/skirts (doesn't actually own a skirt other than her school uniform), lives in tracksuits but is due to go to her first prom.

She has said she wants a strap or a sleeve, wants the dress to hit her natural waist and then flare out (so fish-tails and mermaid styles are out), so I'm thinking a fit-and-flare or A-line are the key styles here.

She would prefer a dress in green.

She absolutely does not want sequins at all. They are O. U. T (according to her).

She's a size 8 and budget would be about €100/£120

Any suggestions?

Have a look at ChiChi London or Quiz. Could she consider a nice jumpsuit?

Or

They've got lots of green dresses though.

@ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou - you may have hit the jackpot with that site. I'll show it to DD when she gets home from school later on and fingers crossed we may have a dress!!!

The first dress is probably more like what she is looking for @HotChocolateWithMarshmallows . I've shown her similar dresses to the second one and she isn't a fan (I think they're both lovely but sure what do I know, I'm only her mother 😄)

Thanks for the suggestions. I had never heard of the Pretty Kitty website before. I knew it was the right thing to do to ask MNetters for advice!

Thank you :)

I did suggest a jumpsuit but I think as it's her first prom/formal event to go to, she actually wants to wear a dress. If you have any suggestions on a jumpsuit, I'll gladly make the suggestions to her but I'm not sure she'd go for it.

Do let us know what she goes for.
I love my pretty kitty dress. It's so easy to wear.

MNetters are absolutely brilliant at finding a frock aren't they Grin? Always makes me smile when they find the perfect garment on these threads.

I bought my prom dress from .princessly

Have you looked at JJ’s house? You can now apparently Oder them to try on before you buy! Although ai think you have to pay for it. My daughter got hers from ASOS last year, it wasn’t expensive and certainly had no sequins! so you could try there
