Recommend to me some winter dog walking boots please!

I have Ariat Langdale boots... only 2 years old and they have started leaking! Despite being waterproofed regularly the leather has cracked and I am less than impressed, given that they weren't cheap.
I walk in all weathers so want something comfy, knee high, preferably better looking than Dunlop wellies..and absolutely waterproof as I'm in the fields with the dog whatever the weather!

Any suggestions for boots that won't require me to sell a kidney to buy them?

I've had dublins that have just gone the same way so will be interested to see other people's recommendations on boots.

I’m just waiting for Toggi Canyons to be delivered this week, based on my sister’s experience with them. I just wish she could break them in for me too 😂

OldTinHat · 02/10/2022 16:44

Stupidly expected suggestions on boots for dogs! Then realised this is style and beauty, not the doghouse!

I shall shuffle off...😆

Muck Boots! Very comfy, although not very stylish (but more so than Dunlops). Definitely waterproof. I must admit, after getting soggy feet from non- waterproof boots that we're supposed to be waterproof I place comfort over style! But there might be a pair you like

Lostinabba · 02/10/2022 16:55

Following as my Toggi Canyons have split after less than 2 years. My others lasted 5 years so not impressed.
@JudgeRindersMinder I don't have the fortitude to break in another pair 🤣

poorbuthappy · 02/10/2022 16:57

Deffo muck boots..I adore mine

wetotter · 02/10/2022 16:58

My Dublins are going strong into their third year (2x walks a day, usually at least an hour each) plus general use whenever it's raining.

I had an old pair of Dubarrys (twice the price) which lasted for about 6 years, but I don't think the current build quality is any better than Dublins now

fallinover · 02/10/2022 16:59

I was coming on to say that dog boots are a nightmare but I see that isn't what is being asked for!

AperolWhore · 02/10/2022 17:00

Dublin river boots! I’ve had mine 5 years and they are worn most days except summer.

Usernamesarenoteasy · 02/10/2022 17:14

Muck boots here too. I had the welly style ones, but they cracked and split and I had to return them and was annoyed, but was convinced to try again.
I then tried the neoprene version, and what a difference! I have had mine a year now, walk the dogs in them every single morning, sometimes up to 5 miles a day, and they look the same as the day I got them.

LifeOnATrain · 02/10/2022 17:15

I use l'aigle neoprene lined walking boots. They have a bit of a heel so are more comfortable and good for big legs. I must have had my pair for 10 years now.

I also have a pair of Merrell waterproof trail walking shoes as I find them more comfortable on my feet and I don't really care if they get muddy! The boots are easier to clean though as they can be hosed down.

Another vote for neoprene MuckBoots. Love mine. Warm, comfy, and waterproof.

ploopypleepy · 02/10/2022 17:18

Dublin river boots, coming up to 5 years and worn nearly every day through winter and still going strong! Not looked after them in the slightest either.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 02/10/2022 17:18

Also MuckBoots. Get the Arctic ones for extra warmth.

beeswa · 02/10/2022 17:21

Another vote for Dublin boots

MumOfNowGrownupKids · 02/10/2022 17:24

Muckboots here too. I wear mine through the winter to walk in the Peak District. Waterproof, warm and comfortable.

Farawayfromhere · 02/10/2022 17:57

Blundstones or muck boots

SimonaRazowska · 02/10/2022 20:42

Aigle neoprene lined wellies

comfy, last me about 4-5 years (I wear them September to May for an hour a day)

Warm dry feet, and they are wellies but feel like wearing proper walking boots

gold standard imo

pistachioicecream · 20/11/2022 20:54

Are Blundstones waterproof? I have a pair but not sure I trust them for very wet fields as I was told in the shop they weren’t waterproof. Would be great if they were.
