I've mentioned this on a couple of threads, but at the risk of a repeat, I've decided to do this for the local womens refuge. I've done it before, but only recently realised that it it could be worth connecting with MN and those of us who have too much stash. I fill make up bags, with some first night in a refuge essentials. A lot of women arrive with nothing, sadly. Often hotel size shampoo and shower gel, toothbrush, little toothpaste etc. Part of my idea was, if you have a make up bag you can keep, and maybe a lipstick, or lip balm etc as well, you have a very small thing to help you do normal things at a very stressful time. Started from the number of make up bags I end up with via presents, GWP, etc. Anyway, I'm tagging a few MNers who expressed an interest when I've mentioned/touted before. BTW the stuff mentioned for the bags isn't exhaustive, I've put an odd 'luxury' body lotion etc in some, as available, so if you have something you want rid of, and I haven't thought of it (quite likely!) please think about donating it! It's a good cause, and there but for fortune... I know it seems quite early, but needs time to organise, particularly given the Royal Mail strikes scheduled. Thanks in advance.
