Zip through hoodie with thumb holes?

I don't know if anyone can help but my son is 10 (11-12 or bigger in clothes) and had a zip up hoodie he loves from Next which has holes in the sleeves for his thumbs to go through. He really wants a new one as this is too small but I have scoured Next, M&S and H&M which is pretty much our entire high street and can't find any. I can't pay a lot, these are our usual options for clothes but I also can't find anything on line - is there a name for these that I should be searching for? TIA

Keyword for search seems to be thumbholes!

I got one from TKMaxx
Can't recall if in the sports section as possibly a skiing thing?

Bench zip-up hoodies often used to have thumbholes, but I've not shopped there for a long (long) time so I can't say if they still do, but might be worth a look?

Argh I was in tk maxx but never looked there for kids stuff will try that! DS loves Addidas too so thank you will do some hunting! Never looked at Bench either so will check it out.

I have one from North Face that is zip up with thumb holes, I never realised how brilliant thumb holes were until I had them!

Thumbholes are common in running tops.

Weirdly I have had them in running tops years ago and disliked them but his is a thicker hoodie thing and I now have thumbhole envy 😂i suspect it might be more common in adult stuff but I don't tend to buy sports wear nowadays

Have a look in decathlon if he just wants a basic sports type one and not a more fashion one.

great quality and reasonable prices. Certainly in the same bracket as Next, etc.

Would one in size 12 do?

You can always buy a size up for longer sleeves and then cut the thumb holes in yourself. This tends to work well with fleecy or polyester fabric that frays less.

Try it on, mark the hole with chalk or pen and then remove to cut, especially if you have a wiggly child!

Argh that's that's one! Ebay I hadn't tried. Thanks what a great link!

There is one about 15 mins from my office so I will have a look when I go in at the end of the month. Only ever been in once!

It would be very simple to make thumb holes in a hoody cuff.

High5InALowRide · 04/10/2022 18:20

I've been advised against it but im temped to give it a go by unpicking a seam!

My DD had a Gap one with thumb holes, but it was a few years ago. It wasn’t one of the ones with the logo on the front.
