What brands have stylish wide fitting boots?

I'm finding it hard to find long winter boots that fit my calves, I didn't think they were that big but clearly they are. Does anyone have any suggestions for brands that are wide fitting but also look good and are comfortable? Happy to pay handsomely for the right boots, prefer to pay more for quality

Have a look at Hotter, they do some nice styles. I have wide calves and can zip them up no bother. They do with fittings too on some. Probably a discount code floating around too if you can find one

Have a look at Duo boots. They do them in a variety of calf sizes.
They aren't cheap but I have had two pairs for 15 years that are still going strong - have only had to be re heeled occasionally.

Another vote for duo boots. I've just ordered my second pair. The first are still going strong and I never have them off my feet. Haven't even had to re heel mine yet and I bought them 3 years ago.

You measure your calf size when sitting and they are sold in various calf sizes (also very small ones for those who struggle with small calf fitting). If like me you fall between calf sizes I would go down as the leather gives and softens a little bit with wear.

Gabor, possibly?

Evans do wide fitting boots - I always buy them

Depend on your definition of stylish, really. I have v. wide feet, and tolerably fat calves and wear Fly London. But I am most definitely NOT stylish.

OrangePomander · 01/10/2022 09:23

I wear Fly for the wider sizing too, I love them but as pp can’t advise as to the stylishness or not!

Amazing, thank you, will take a look at these. I'm 'only' a size 14 but apparently my calves are big. I might look for a pair of slouchy boots with a block heel

Another vote for duo, I've got a pair that are over 15 years old.

Assuming that it's the original Duo and that they have rebranded back from Teddy and Muff or whatever they were for a while!

Simply Be have great styles and a choice of calf widths.

Fairfax and Favour do three calf fits, small, regular and one for 'sporting' calves! Pretty expensive but F&F seem to have great reviews on MN

Dune has wide calf options as well.

Reporting back, I ordered the Fairfax and Favour Regina boot, flat heel, and it fits really well, no issues doing the zip up.

Boots are gorgeous but will take a little wearing in as the leather is stiff around the ankles. Feel incredibly well made and will probably last years

Did you order the sporting fit OP? I keep looking at F&F, I'm also 'only' a 14 but struggle getting wellies etc to fit so I must have a wide calf.

TheOpenRoad · 10/10/2022 21:05

Yes, ordered the sporting fit and it fits really well. There's elastic panels so I imagine the boots coukd stretch further. So far I've worn them over jersey trousers just fine, so tights and leggings would be no problem at all

And I love how F&F call it sporting rather than wide 😁
