Can I wear DMs with wide, fat feet?

I've been after a pair for ages and have some birthday money to spend all on me!

My feet are ridiculously. EE or EEE fit depends on the shoes, although I also wear Old Skool Vans

Do DMs work for the wide of hoof?

I don't find the usual dms wide enough. I used to wear their desert boots which were perfect but they stopped making them. I've just bought these. They're still a little tight but I think they'll loosen up nicely.

I just got these for my daughter, the leather is really soft and they are wide. You can take the zip out too & have them as lace ups.

I did think about men's but I need a size 5.5 - my feet are short and fat 🤣

My feet are short and fat too and I love my DMs, you to have to be prepared for the agony of breaking them in though.

I think you might struggle with the ones that are harder leather as they don’t stretch as much. Go for pascals. I have wide EEE feet and these are fine but the original ones I ended up reselling as I couldn’t break them in comfortably.

I just got a new pair of the soft leather ones yesterday. I'm still in mourning for my trusty old pair which sadly passed. They hurt across the bridge of my feet, and are currently sat with a can of beer inside each.

Bestcatmum · 01/10/2022 08:09

No they don't I crippled myself in them. You are better off wearing nice boots in your actual size. You can get lovely boots in your shoe width all over the Internet.
I am a massive shoeaholic and I'm 5 and a half eee. I only ever wear shoes in my actual size and width or my feet would die.

There’s Solovair which are the original DM makers I believe? They’ve got this page about different widths. They’ve got a lovely range of colours.

Have you looked at Solovair? They used to make boots for DM before DM moved the manufacture to China.

Solovair have a useful guide showing which lasts they use for each boot and explains which are wider

I can’t wear DMs, too tight in the toes and too stiff all over.

Would you try something like this?

I really like these.
is mens sizing the same as womens?

Cheesewiz · 01/10/2022 08:56

I have vey wide feet and I wear dms comfortably, I bought a second hand pair on Vinted and they were already softened up so that was a bonus

amylou8 · 01/10/2022 11:58

I've just discovered you can take the insoles out. Made a huge difference to the fit of mine. I'll put them back in once they've softened up a bit.
