Can I wear this dress? Also accessories help!

I want to wear this dress to York races, it was a thoughtful gift from my partner, but I feel it's more a... festive dress? Is it suitable? I've never been before, we have a box and will be having a sit down meal.

If it is suitable I have no idea how to accesorise. I'm not a jewellery/accessories/glamour type of person. I would prefer not to wear a hat.

If you're not going on ladies day, you don't actually need a hat (although it wouldn't stop me wearing one!).

Gorgeous. Absolutely right for a box at the races.. I think you need a lovely single breasted coat, boots and a hat if you like them.

My god ,that dress is beautiful . I'd pair it with a wrap/ stole type thing, very lush and velvety in autumnal shades like rust, and olive to match the dress, and Victorian style heeled ankle boots.

Gorgeous! Another vote for some fancy boots, or maybe hot pink high heels, a tailored mid-length coat, and sparkly earrings.

And then I'd use it as an excuse to buy a beautiful new pair of heeled boots!

I thought faux fur as well- not sure why as it's not usually "a thing" for me- but I agree shorter than the one you've linked to.

I think it's because there's a 40s style glamour to it that would suit (faux) fur.

They have a few fake furs on vinted too . May be worth a look.
