Hair is dry AND greasy?!

My hair just feels awful all the time. My scalp isn't greasy or itchy/flakey but my hair feels limp, dirty and like straw, it's so dry. I've just washed it and I can tell it's going to be flat and shit tomorrow already. A lot of it fell out when I had a stressful time a few years ago so it's also fluffy/patchy at the front.
It's just past my shoulders- had it cut recently, about 4 inches lopped off- but that hasn't helped.
The only thing that makes it feel slightly/temporarily better is when I dye it to cover my grey!
Usually use herbal essences Bee Strong, mask once a week, wash alternate days.
Products/tips pleeeease..

Head and shoulders Derma X pro range, it's a greeny bluey coloured bottle, the conditioner goes on the scalp too. Really massage both shampoo and conditioner in well, it's making my hair feel really lovely and I struggled with oiliness and dryness at the same time. It's very soothing to the scalp. The range has a scalp tonic too but I haven't tried that yet.

Also was worried it would strip out my colour but it's colour safe!

Loreal Elvive have a clay shampoo and conditioner which I swear by for my greasy roots/dry ends conundrum. You can usually pick it up on offer.

I've started using Morrocan oil shampoo and conditioner, plus the hair oil. It was expensive, £35 for the first two plus a small bottle of oil. It really has made a difference to my hair as when I straighten it , it feels silky not dry, although if I let it dry naturally it does go frizzy, but it does stay straight until the next wash.

Thank you for these suggestions! A clarifying shampoo sounds like a good idea, I don't use a lot of product but I switch up my shampoo and conditioner quite often.
I have some of that 8 second wonder stuff @TwocksAway so I scrunched a bit on the ends last night and gave it a rinse in the sink, it actually feels a lot softer this morning so thank you for the reminder that it's nice!
@tillytoodles1 the morrocan stuff always seems to sit a bit heavy on my hair, but to be fair I've only tried the oil and cheaper shampoos.
@Mojitomogul sounds promising if it doesn't strip colour- I need to get out of the habit of dying to make it feel better. @Neilsfavouritechilli I'll have a look at that one too for an every other day wash. I started with the herbal essences when it fell out and it seemed to help build strength as it regrew but perhaps now it's just a bit heavy.
