Just that. I have a strong urge to buy it, but I don't know if it's just the power of suggestion.

Is it nice? Would it suit a busty size 18?

I think it's lovely but I fear you'd have to be pretty tall to carry it off. Which puts me out of the running at 5'4"

I've not bought Joe Brown for a while, but 8-10 years ago the quality was awful, cheap thin material and poorly made, the stitching and details came apart. It felt like wearing a fancy dress costume that was pretending to be clothes if that makes sense.

Unless they have massively improved I wouldn't bother.

Oldraver · 25/09/2022 09:12

I've bought lots of Joe Browns in the past (not in the last 6 months), and generally they are true to size, though I am about DD/E bust. I've had a few tops that were not generous in the bust

The quality though is variable. I have a cord pinafore which is fab but some of the prints dont wash well and very quickly look faded. Jackets and coats go bobbly quite quickly. So as someone said...as a £30 dress you wouldn't mind.

When Ive bought bigger ticket items I buy from one of the catalogues that give 25% off with first purchase have exhausted them all now

I have bought a few Joe Browns items recently. I think they are a bit overpriced and much better value in the sale. The quality is ok but I do find myself easily tempted by the pictures and sometimes end up getting something a bit odd! That said, I consistently get compliments on a couple of their pieces, and one jersey summer dress has been a brilliant mainstay for about 6 years now. I am in my 60s, size 12, 5 ft 6 and reasonably slim, and the shapes seem to work well. Avoid anything with tassels!

Joe Brown doesn't suit me at all. Maybe that's why I don't find this dress nice. The pattern makes it look larger. Not a fan. Sorry.

AtrociousCircumstance · 03/10/2022 11:43

I think you’d rock it.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 03/10/2022 11:50

I've bought from Joe Brown's for the last 2 years and have been happy with the quality. I do tend to buy in the sales though.

I have bought two long dresses & at 5ft 7" just about get away with the length. I'm 38E bust and go for a size 16 even though my bottom half is 12/14 and no problems with popping out.

OldTinHat · 03/10/2022 12:25

I just love that dress! I'm a E cup and wear Joe Browns all the time, some dresses are actually a bit gapey around the bust. Also an 18.

The description says you can also wear it with a vest so that would negate any 'bustage escapage' if you undid a few buttons?
