Autumn wedding - summery dress

Hi,
I have a wedding to go to in late October. I bought a dress months ago and I must’ve been feeling optimistic as I looked at it the other day and realised it is far too summery/bright and that I will freeze.
What do people wear to autumn weddings?
I hate my legs and my arms at the moment so this dress was perfect (angel sleeve arms, maxi length).
I can’t seem to find anything online that isn’t either frumpy, short, or exposing the entire back.
Do you think there’s such a thing as too summery a wedding guest dress even if it’s horrible outside? (I’ve thought about just bringing a pashmina)

Thanka for any advice. I don’t really do weddings, and I’ve put on a far bit of weight lately and feel generally rubbish. So this might be clouding things.

Massimo Dutti has some gorgeous looking coats in bright colours. You could wear one over your dress for the church service and then shed it for the reception?

I do think you’ll need something over the dress by late October.

Or would you rather choose a different dress?

Jersey midi wrap or V neck dress with 3/4 sleeves would be my go to for an Autumn wedding.

I wore a midi velvet number with long sleeves to an October wedding up in the lakes. Think it was from Zara!

I wore a 3/4 sleeve linen maxi dress to a wedding last week as I'd bought it ages ago and was determined to wear it .... it was fine during the day, but I took a chunky wool cardigan to put on in the evening and changed from sandals to knee high boots with a nice warm pair of socks underneath!
