DH is giving me £500 for my birthday to spend on clothes. I'm 31 5ft 7 size 14. Slimmer legs big belly. Usually wear black leggings, top cardigan as don't know what to wear. I'm a SAHM who does the school run so thinking more practical outfits. Where should I shop what should I go for?

You could have a look in Mint Velvet and see if there is anything there that appeals?

If it were me I'd be tempted to book a John Lewis personal shopper, give you some new ideas.

I’d go for a great coat, boots and jeans.

I would spend it on boots and a coatigan from Celtic and co and if any left over get some make up from Charlotte Tilbury. Have fun spending!

I would get some basics then go to whistles for a really special outfit and a lovely coat and pair of boots for winter!

I'd get a really good pair of jeans (Levis maybe?) and a coat or leather jacket. Maybe boots. Or if you're okay for a good coat/jacket and boots, maybe one dress that you love and that could serve you for a range of occasions from dinner out with heels to dressed down with trainers for the pub etc.

Definitely boots and a coat of some sort - enjoy spending

I'm a SAHM and don't usually have much to spend on clothes so the thing I find useful is trying to plan a capsule wardrobe of a few things that will all match together. If you're starting a whole new wardrobe from scratch then I'd recommend looking on Pinterest for SAHM capsule wardrobe ideas. You can usually find them by season too. I agree a good coat and some boots as other posters have suggested would be good investments. Maybe a couple of vests and T-shirt's you can layer under a shirt to mix and match eg a denim shirt, checked shirt for winter, a good pair of jeans...
