Are M and S short jeans the size of their old regular?

I’ve seen a thread saying trouser sizes have changed. Does this applies to jeans?

They are now 2" longer - for years Short were my length now I had to get them taken up. There was supposed to be Extra Short but they were nowhere to be seen.

This was months back and I'm not sure what current availability is.

Yes. The regular are now far too long. They also seem less roomy than they were-I nearly had to size up. Annoying

Yes, I got Regular and they are far too long, need taking up. I imagine the Short has been similarly resized.

I'm 5ft 7" and regular was usually spot on for me. I tried on some wide leg trousers a couple of days ago and the regular was pooling on the floor. Even high heels (which I don't wear) couldn't have fixed this. The short were almost right, but just a shade shorter than I would have liked in a wide leg. If they had been straight or tapered, I'd have considered the short length perfect.

Well this explains why any M&S short 'ankle grazers' came right over my feet when I tried them on yesterday!

Yes I think so. I've always worn 'long' but they are too long for me now.

Urgh is that what happened? I have always had long leg in M&S. Bought a couple of trousers online and they were ridiculously long. So few places to get trousers in the right length, as regular elsewhere us too short, but tall ranges are for much taller people. I am keeping them as needed to wear to work straight away, but will need to boy some wonder web to take them up. Not an issue I ever normally have!

They now do an extra short. I’m sure if that’s something I would want to be labelled.
