Are bootcut jeans back in fashion?

Because I saw someone wearing them this morning, remembered how much I loved them, and really really want them to be. Especially as boot season is nearly upon us. Any thoughts?

Yes I tried their different version but nothing matched Long & Lean.

@Sling there was a petition a few years ago! Had no effect...

The fatface wide leg jeans are amazing! Love mine.

I just bought a black pair that I'm going to wear out this weekend, black high heeled boots and a sparkly top - I'm sooooo happy

SNAP!

I've bought myself a (what I call) bootcut pair of jeans, but can't bring myself to wear them as I feel like I look too old in them now. I lived in bootcuts throughout the 90's, it took me YEARS to part with the style, but now feel.like I'm trying too hard to be youthful in them. My 16yr old wears flared/bootcut and looks fab.

moomoogalicious · 27/11/2022 08:44

Yes I'm wearing flared cords which got a nod of approval from teen dd. I wear them with converse/new balance. Still have black skinny jeans to wear with my docs though

OldTinHat · 27/11/2022 08:53

I have never not worn bootcuts! I've discovered Asda/George Wonder Fit bootcuts and, omg, the best jeans ever!

LookdeepintotheAdvent · 27/11/2022 09:26

Bought some bootcuts a month ago after wearing slim or boyfriend jeans for years. I've missed wearing them as they're more versatile and suit my shape so much better. Several people have asked if I've lost weight (I haven't!)

Coffeepot72 · 27/11/2022 09:50

At my Christmas do yesterday, as reported earlier, I wore my new black slim bootleg jeans, I felt fab in them! More flattering on me than skinnies.

BuryingAcorns · 27/11/2022 09:53

Please no. Making women everywhere look like they have carthorse hooves. I hate skinny parsnips too. What is wrong with a lovely, classic straight cut?

Coffeepot72 · 27/11/2022 10:24

@BuryingAcorns I also like a straight cut. But I felt really good in yesterday’s bootlegs.

DillDanding · 27/11/2022 10:26

I think they are! As a devotee of the skinny, it has occurred to me more and more that they are looking dated.

We wear our DM boots or our retro addidas trainers. If suddenly hot, we wear our flip flops. As you may be able to tell I am not a style forum regular... Will slink back to AIBU...

This ☝️ I love a boot cut.

I bought the marks and spencer black slim flare. They are a bargain at £22.50. I've been wearing them so much I decided I don't care, the style suits me. I was wearing them with white trainers and that felt wrong. I had some dark brown chelsea boots that I never wear as the toe is more pointed. They work great under the jeans! So I think western boots would work really well - anything almond or pointed toe basically.

merrymelodies · 29/11/2022 00:39

When it comes to jeans, who cares about fashion? I wear what suits me and what I feel comfortable in.

Drywhitefruitycidergin · 29/11/2022 00:45

I never stopped wearing them - just didn't have the shape for skinnies.
90's are everywhere - 11 year old dd came in with a strand of hair hanging down either side of her face earlier & asked if I liked her new style - bless her 🤣😂

Quite a few people, as it happens!

I have the same M&S pair, they're amazing, so flattering on me!
