Help me accessorise this dress, please

I am thinking of getting this dress to wear to a party. It looks black in that pic but is actually purple.

What colour jacket/tights/shoes can I wear with it? If I wear black I'll look like a goth, right?

I know, but I am not v good at party dresses! I am a shortarse and tend to look like a girl dressing in her mum's clothes in proper evening frocks

Loads of pearls around your wrist flesh colour tights and strappy sandals or kitten heels? maybe a wrap instead of a jacket so you don't look too engulfed?

I like it - looks French, I'd go with dark tights and shoes - will look very chic and minimal
