Quality flat shoes

I am looking for a really good pair of flat shoes to wear both for work and casual. Sort of ballet flat type but am open to other shapes. I want something which has support and where I can’t feel the ground under my feet (if that makes sense)

I walk up to 5 miles a day during the course of my work - lots of up and down stairs and standing monitoring things. Also I can randomly end up outside in the rain on grass. So I can’t decide whether to go for something relatively disposable (which I don’t really like but sometimes good stuff gets ruined.) or high quality which will last.

any thoughts?

I keep getting pushed adverts for Sloafer. I saw one thread about them on here about a year ago and people thought they were ugly. Any opinions?

Russell and Bromley. X
Maybe walk to work in trainers change when you get there. X

Russell and Bromley is a good shout. The miles clocked up is while at work unfortunately.

I know they're not cutting edge, but I have some Gabor pumps and they have rubber soles which are very comfortable to walk in.

Russell and Bromley. My Charming are indestructible, good in the rain and I definitely can’t feel the ground when I walk miles in them. Had other flats from there, also good

hi all! I thought it would check back with an update.

I absolutely love the flattered contrast stitch with a bow. But i was worried about the sizing. I happened upon these and thought it was worth a punt:

they arrived today and are absolutely lovely. The wee heel give them a structure and they are firm so I can’t feel the ground.

I still haven’t stopped looking though - that’s one pair of smart flats 🥿 but I think some of the recommendations given above could be good for a more easy dressing day

They're lovely.

Yay! Success!

I've just ordered some brogues from flattered, so if I remember i shall post about sizing.

For future purchases I would suggest looking at MOSHULU shoes. British company and lots of colours in each style. I personally find they fit true to size

Those LKBennett shoes are lovely. I'm a big fan of Rogue Matilda which is a bit above your price range but their depop account includes brand new samples. They are all flats, they have lively feminine Derby shoes as well as other more casual styles.

I have a gorgeous pair of moshulu Mary Janes so I quite agree that they are fab. I just wasn’t that keen on the flats. But maybe I could take another look
