What shoes to wear to work with bare legs

I work in a smart-casual office. I've always worn skirts/dresses with black tights and black court shoes.

Since losing weight, I'm happy to have bare legs (or nude nights) now but haven't taken the plunge as it just does not look right with black court shoes. Almost gives tacky vibes. Is it the colour? Do I need nude shoes? Or black ankle boots rather than court?

Any suggestions or pics welcome.

I'd lose the court shoes full stop. Brogues or can you wear trainers. What sort of dresses are you wearing?

Coming into autumn I'm stocking up on tights again anyway and will be wearing my dresses with DM boots, trainers and brogues.

I wouldn't wear ankle boots as I never think they really look right with skirts, especially with bare legs or Jude tights.
Court shoes always look nice in my opinion depending on the heel height, a higher heel looks nicer.
Brogues would look good if you wanted flats
I would avoid trainers, I think trainers and skirts are too casual for a work environment.
Skirts do always look better with a high heeled shoe though

@abovedecknotbelow Dresses tend to be mid-length floaty style. Although I tend to wear skirts more, normally tailored skirts that fall just above the knee.

I wear white trainers with dresses and skirts - work in corporate finance .

Loafers. I wear them with culottes and midi skirts / dresses and bare legs.

Even though my company are smart-casual, I wouldn't get away with wearing casual shoes like trainers unfortunately.

I don't see a problem with leg coloured tights and black court shoes. I wear low heeled courts with black, almost black and nude tights.

I don't like trainers or loafers.

I know they're not always the comfiest, but what about dolly flats as they seem to be coming back into fashion. Or t-bar heels like a maryjane?

I think bare legs and court shoes are fine, pretty normal where I used to work. I think sometimes it just feels weird to us until we get used to something.

I don't know what you think is tacky about black court shoes and nude tights- Kate Middleton often wears black or dark shoes with courts. Her style is the antithesis of tacky.

with nude tights

I also don't see the problem with black court shoes and nude tights?
(What I don't like is black shoes and black tights worn with a shortish black dress with bare arms. The combo of black-clad legs and paler arms looks odd to me. I much prefer nude tights in that situation. Maybe it's just me though and I'm not exactly a fashion expert!)
